This hill station was a former resort for the British Raj Elite, making it highly architectural and beautiful. The area is covered with tree plantations of different varieties.
This picturesque region is also the the home to the endangered mountain goat Nilgiri Tahr. It is under the Eravikulam National Park region and is situated near to the magnificent and enormous Anamudi falls. The best hiking trails in this region are the ones to the towering Anamudi Peak at 2695 m.
