Then straight head to Bhuleshwar Shiva Temple.

Situated on a hillock built in 13th century, it is 45 KM from Pune and 10 Km from Yavat village on the Pune - Solapur highway (Yawat-Saswad Road). The temple surrounding looks like a fortress, which was built to guard and keep a watch for any kind of Pune invasion. There are still some remains of the fort like structures in the vicinity. It was called as a Mangalgad Fort in the days of the yore.

The entrance of the temple is very interesting. The construction design is called Gaumukhi, where in the walls are completely decked with intricate carvings.

Surprisingly the temple architecture is very Mughal Like, legend says, this was to confuse the Muslim invaders. The outside of the temple resembles a tomb. The main sanctum has a large Nandi. The temple space is spacious and also has ample parking space. The carvings are broken yet the exude a magic in the being and will take your back to that time.

The temple is a beautiful with natural light and shadow. The area is a beautiful green patch with different types of birds to spot like Mynnah, Babblers, Ravens, Laughing Doves, Indian Silver bills,  Ashy crowned sparrow, Bushchat, American Robin Thrush.

The day long trip will enliven the memories for many more days and of course its just stone throws away...3 to 4 hours wink wink.
