Social has an ongoing Long Drink Festival across their outlets in Church Street and Whitefield, with a new promotional menu. The theme this year is Game of Thrones, and right from the menu designed on a sword, and the GoT inspired drinks’ names – if there was a theme executed well, this is it! The menu features 9 new drinks – 6 of them being experimental Long Island Iced Teas, and 3 other cocktails. While Social does have some quirky LIITs on their regular menu in Classic, Toxic and Electric variants, these new drinks hold their own and stand quite tall, if you know what I mean!

Topping the list of the drinks from this new menu is Winter Is Coming – yes, straight from the much awaited King of the North is this well made and balanced concoction of Tequila, Coconut Rum, Vodka topped and flavored with Ginger Ale. Next up would be the vibrant and glorious Blood of the Dragon from our Khaleesi Dany – a light and fruity citric Iced Tea of Tequila, Gin mixed with blood Orange Juice and Cranberry Juice. Want your LIITs super strong, this one’s right up your alley – the High Garden contains Vodka, Gin, Rum, Tequila and – Absinthe, it’s bound to hit hard. The Sunspear and Lions Tale almost head to a tie, with the former spinning off on a whiskey base with orange and apple juice topped with sweet and sour. Lions’ Tale was no mean feat – because Jim Beam, Vodka and Tequila can’t be anything that you will forget. Or was it remember?! Ours is the fury was perhaps the mildest of the lot – and closest to the classic LIIT. And these are all available in 500ml and 1000ml – priced at Rs.550 and Rs.999 respectively. In Social, size DOES matter!

No, the lineup isn’t quite done yet. For the faint hearted, the simpletons or just the folks who like to drink things slow, three special cocktails on this menu is sure to keep your thirst at bay. White Walker is definitely my recommendation – kahlua and cream mixed with vodka and you can’t go wrong there! The Valar Morghulis and Ice & Fire were quite well made drinks served in tusk shaped glasses – both very potent and expertly mixed with lavender and cherry tonic. These drinks are priced at Rs.550 each.

The Long Drink Festival menu is available until 10th August in Social outlets throughout the country. Try the drinks and pick your side for the next season of Game of Thrones!
