When you are looking for a reason to go out, along comes the Night Market!
Most of the things I buy are either carefully researched online or bought randomly at flea markets. One such opportunity came by when I visited the Night Market organized by Eat around the Corner in Bandra this Friday night. The timing of the market was perfect for a cosy evening with friends after work.
I reached there around 7 and it was already getting crowded. People herded from every corner to check out the stores. As I walked around to look before I could relax with my drink in a corner, I spotted that there were various stalls of hand-crafted jewellery which included both local as well as imported ones. One such stall that caught my eye was an artist who was making portraits of visitors. The pictures he made were a bit funny to look at and so brought a smile to his clients.
There were also lamps shades, crosia baskets in pastel colours to keep your trinkets, clothes, and art & décor accessories to shop. I too bought an artistic Tea box for my morning cup of green tea.
Apart from these, there was food and wine as well for the evening. But I must say, the one thing missing was the space to walk as it was getting packed by the minute. Where I found peace, was the dessert counter at last. The array of sweets laid across was mouth-watering and I wanted to taste each one of them. I did have my fair share of bread & wine and ended it with a chocolate mousse.
There was some space to sit inside the restaurant, but when the live band by Lindsay & Reena is playing outside; who wants to be cornered. The music was upbeat and enjoyable and so was the food when accompanied by few drinks. The organizers arranged for coupons for food and drinks. The good part was all the stalls accepted Paytm; with the current cash crunch times this came as relief for many.
The market is held every year except for this time there was no theme to be carried out. Some good food, music and shopping came along in a tightly packed bag to sum it up. Though there was very little room for movement but everything together somehow gave me a wholesome experience for an evening.
If you missed it this time, worry not, attend it next year and I hope by that time the organizerswould arrange a bigger venue to accomodate the eager crowds.
