Prabalgad - 47.4 Kms



Prabalgad Fort is located between Matheran and Panvel, just about 46 Kilometers from Mumbai. As one of the oldest forms of architecture, the fort is one of the most popular tourist spots as well as a great spot for some adventure trek. The 3 hour trek shows great views of some of the most scenic spots. The Ulahas River, Chanderi and Peb forts, the Karnala fort, Patalganga River, Kala Buruj, Kalvantin fort are a few that you will be coming across while on a trek to the Prabalgad fort.

Karnala - 47.8 Kms


The Karnala Fort is another popular tourist spot for the visitors. The fort is located at the top of the hill inside the sanctuary. A scenic trek leads up to the old fort that was built even before 1400. The trek trails show some of the best views along the one hour trek up, offering 5 resting places that are explicit spots along the trek. A monsoon trek up the Karnala Fort makes one of the most enjoyable experience for the trekkers.

Vasai Fort - 60 Kms

Formerly known as Bassien, is a scenic suburban town in the north of Mumbai. As one of the scenic forts, the place is one of the popular tourist spots around Mumbai. The fort is also of national importance and has been protected and maintained by the Archeological Survey of India. 


As a perfect spot for a day away from the crowded city, the picturesque Portuguese fort is one of the most scenic escapes. With the remains from the 17th century the serene surroundings around the fort is something one would always look forward to.

Though only the ruins remain, the beauty is unmatchable and the three churches inside the fort still remains recognizable. Time and again there has been great film shooting sessions that add charm to the screen.

Matheran - 80 Kms


Matheran is one of the most scenic hill stations between Mumbai and Pune. At an altitude of 2,625 feet, this place enjoys cooler and less humid climate during the summer, making it one of the popular escapes for the people in cities close by like Mumbai and Pune. It is also one of the smallest hill stations in India. Matheran is situated along the Western Ghats range at an elevation of around 2,625 feet above sea level.

Dukes Nose - 87 Kms


There are a few hill station points in or near Lonavala that offer a terrific view, a few of them being Rajmachi Point, Tiger Point, Lion Point, Duke's Nose and Shooting Point. The echo point at Tiger’s point is a major fascination among tourists. Duke’s nose earned its name due to its close resemblance to Duke Wellington’s nose. Set amidst greenery and beautiful surroundings, it is a famous spot for rock climbing.

Lonavala - 82 Kms


Blessed with waterfalls, green cover, lakes and unmatchable scenic landscapes Lonavala should be your next weekend getaway destination if you are a lover of nature. Lonavala is a part of the Sahyadri range and it springs during monsoon. The name 'Lonavla' is derived from 'Len' and 'Avali' that roughly means the resting place of stones. While in Lonavala you take absorb in as much as of the breathtaking views and pristine environment.

Tamhini - 80.8 Kms



Surrounded by stunning ranges, dense forests, waterfalls and lakes, Tamhini is one of the most beautiful ghats along the Western Ghats. The Ghat begin near the Mulshi Dam and stretches along the Western Ghats to the Orchard Cafe. The entire stretch of of Ghat Road becomes quite popular during the monsoons because of the lovely waterfalls and streams along this stretch. The trails along the Tamhini Ghats are quite zig-zag. Apart from the fact that this great lets one spot some exquisite wildlife, the train provides a rusty charm all the way up.

Lohaghad - 99.5 Kms

A trek to the Lohaghad fort is one of the most popular treks in Mumbai. At a height of 3,389 ft, the place offers some of the most stunning views and definitely a thrill during the adventure trek. The view of the stunning Pavana Reservoir is a sight trekkers should not miss while on the trek.

Situated very close to the Lonavala, the fort is one of the best spots for both trekking and as a getaway from the city.

Korighad - 105 Kms



There are numerous treks and trails around this place which offers a great view. Korigad is one such fort in the Sahyadri ranges, around 20 km south of Lonavala in Pune. It is about 923 m above sea level and makes for a fun and easy trek. There are two base village for this trek, one from Peth Shahpur and the other from Ambavane Village. The entire trek from the base to summit takes about an hour and half.

Tikona - 121 Kms

As the name ‘Tikona’ suggests, the hill is practically triangular in shape from all sides. At an altitude of 3600 ft, this place is one of the most apt spots for an adventure trek, that is not very far from the city. The Fort is also one the dominant hill forts along the western ghats. There are quite a few caves that one can explore while on a trek to Tikona Fort, including the Trimbakeshwar Mahadev temple.

Mt. Kalsubai - 158 Kms

As one of the highest peaks along the western ghats in Maharashtra, Mt. Kalsubai stands as tall as 5400 ft. It is also proudly known as the Everest of Maharashtra. This place is also one of the most popular trekking spots, that also encourages wild-life enthusiasts. Dating back to the Cenozoic Era, the mountain is of solidified flood basalt. The mountain range lies within the Kalsubai Harishchandragad Wild-life Sanctuary.

Panchgani - 244 Kms


As the name suggests, Panchgani is a quaint place perched between five magnificent hills. Offering some of the most amazing viewpoints of the hills, this place is one the most favourite and easy getaways from Mumbai. Stretching for about 95 acres, this is one of the longest mountain plateau in Asia, with a viewpoint that lets you spot the famous Devil's Kitchen caves.

Rajmachi - 313 Kms

Rajmachi is one the most scenic and popular spots, not very from  Mumbai. The spot is also close to Lonavala and has a very access. At an altitude of 2700 ft and is a great architectural spot. The fortification has two forts, the Shrivardan Fort and the Manaranjan Fort. The monsoon season along Rajmachi shows lush green, waterfalls, streams and a lovely picturesque getaway from Mumbai. As a popular trekking spot, the climb leads through a lovely trail that is quite easy and gradual throughout.

Amboli - 489 Kms


Amboli is one of the most beautiful hill-stations, also known as the ‘queen’ of Maharashtra for its natural splendor which is in plenty. It is a precious ecological hotspot, located in the state of Sawantwadi, on the ridge of the Western Ghats. Amboli is situated at an altitude of 690 meters above the sea level and its topography comprises dense forest area with a large number of waterfalls which come to life during the rains.

Harishchandraghad


At a height of 4600 ft, Harishchandraghad Forts is one the most popular trekking spots near Mumbai. The view from the top, shows a great view of Maharashtra, making it one of the most preferred trekking spots. The caves along the Harishchandraghad are spread throughout the hills. While many of these caves remain undiscovered, most of them are accessed by the trekkers and people who come to visit the temple.
