Not very from Mumbai and Pune is the scenic Sandhan Valley, one of the most favourite trekking spot that became quite popular very recently. Also called as the 'Valley of Shadows', the rocky trail has less than three feet distance between, leaving very less space for sunlight to seep through, hence the name. Nestled between Alang, Kulang, Kalsubai, Madan, Ratangad & Ajoba Mountain Ranges, this spot is popular for the night treks that lets one spot hosts of fireflies lighting up the trails along.
The valley is about 200 ft deep, and is very close to the Bhandardara Region. The Samrad Village is the starting point to the valley and is one of the toughest adventure treks in the region. The best time to get on with an adventure trek at the Sandhan Valley would be right after the monsoons, around Mid - November to February. The trek trail shows a bunch of adventure activities rappelling, rock climbing, canyoning, sliding and more. The trek is also perfect for a camping night during the trek.
