Prabalgad Fort is located between Matheran and Panvel at an elevation of 2,300 feet. It was built at the pinnacle of the rocky plateau very close to Matheran. Previously, the fort was known as Muranajan and renamed by the Maratha forces under the rule of Chhatrapati Shivaji.
There is a dense forest on the way till the top of fort Prabal. This fort can be approached via a steep climb of a waterfall route.
Difficulty Level: Medium. You need to walk 10kms uphill and 10kms downhill.

07:00 - Meet at Panvel Railway Station and move towards the base of Prabalgad
08:30 - Have Breakfast, Introduction, and briefing
09:30 - Start trekking to Prabalgad
13:00- Reach Prabalgad and explore the lush green landscape
13:30 - Start descending.
15:00 - Reach Prabalmachi and lunch. Then descend back to base
17:30 - Reach base and move to Panvel Station
18:30 - Reach Panvel station and then back to your respective locations

Things to carry:
- At least 2-liter water (preferably in personal reusable bottles)
- Good trekking shoes or sport shoes

- We appreciate participants who bring healthy foods like juices, dry fruits, Energy bars, etc.
- A haversack to put everything. Sling bag not allowed in the trek
