Groove Pool is an exclusive OCL property with the sole purpose of digging out those electronic gems that have eluded our dancefloors for too long. Bringing the best in Afrobeat, Analog Crunch, Acid Disco, Glitch and House with original, cutting edge sounds from the sub-continent, GP will debut at Murphies in Pune, on January 24, 2020.
Featuring music producer and DJ Ryan Kardam, and Pune's own Pulpy Shilpy, the night will begin at 10 pm, with entry through guest-list. With hours of uninterrupted dance mayhem and two artists per show, the series aspires to feature underground, original producers and party-makers from the sub-continent.
OCL debuted last year with a series of tours supporting the album launches of India's pioneer female rapper MC Manmeet Kaur and feisty music composer Pulpy Shilpy. Their well-received concert at G5A Foundation for Contemporary Culture also featured Swadesi's MC Tod Fod, DJ Bamboy, and VJ Blink aka Harsh Patel. OCL collaborates with underground, non-binary producers and DJs from across the world, including Delhi-based femme collective Coven Code, for exclusive mixtapes.
Orbs Cure Labs is a collective and record label pushing fearless experimentation, exploration and expression in the South Asian urban sonic realm. A platform for outspoken ideas, OCL is committed to empowering left-field, gender-positive, genre-bending projects, artists and cultural spaces.
