Performance Stories was curated by Niki Ray in 2018.
Niki Ray aka The Madbai a counselor, social worker, theater artist, and comedian, has been working with various communities, individuals, and organizations on creating safe, non-judgmental sharing spaces through various formats of sharing circles and theater-based workshops in Pune, Mumbai, and Bangalore.
A platform that invites artists who gave up a confirmed life to re-discover their passions and their true calling.
Each session sees a collective of a few such artists sharing their inspiring story and how that particular form of creativity helps their coping mechanism and affects their mental well-being. With a wide range of artists on board; from storytellers, dancers, singers, comedians, poets, to writers, each version of Performance Stories has witnessed unique conversations and acts.
Performance Stories is about creating safe, non-judgmental, inclusive spaces for individuals irrespective of caste, creed, age, status, gender, sexuality or race.
We love conversations over performances and Chai. Performance stories have hosted over 50 artists thus far and reached out to an audience of around 250 people.
We welcome people of all genders.
Feel free to carry your music instrument, poem, a piece you wrote and an act you wish to perform.
