Summer Camp Info:

Summer camp is a well-designed program for children of age group of 7-15 yrs, conducted at our Kolad campsite every summer after exams. Traditional summer camps that used to conduct at some hill station away from the city was kind of a just usual tour. But the Adventure Summer camp designed by Small Steps Adventures focuses on the experiential learning & outdoor activities. Activities such as Monkey Tail, Burma Bridge, Low Ropes, and Slackline raise the tempo of excitement in the camp. Importance of food and water is explained to kids with various activities. After Summer camp, we assure parents that there will be an increase in the social quotient of kids. Kids work smartly in all areas, as leadership activities develop various skills required for them to be ahead of the competition.  

Duration: 3 Days 2 nights

Location: Badlapur.

Age Group:  7- 15 years

Meal types: Veg

 

Highlights of Summer Camp:

  1. Stay in the Natural Environment away from Daily hustle bustle, understand the Importance of Nature.
  2. Qualities like Expression, Team Unity and Humor are developed through Group Activity.
  3. Understand the Value of a Daily Meal.
  4. Exciting Fun filled Games like Rifle Shooting, Archery, Slackline, Low Ropes, High ropes and many more.
  5. Learning Importance of Rules & Regulations at Camp Site (Army Style).
  6. Jungle cooking, Rain Dance, Outdoor games

Itinerary:

Parents can drop kids to campsite directly at Kolad.

06:00 am at Dadar (Pritam Hotel)

07:00 am at Thane Railway Station.
10:00 am at Badlapur railway Station.

INR 6000 + 5% GST

Inclusions:

Exclusions:

  • Any other Activity/ Meals/ Things not mentioned in the Itinerary
  • 5% GST

Cancellation and Refund applicable on the tour cost: 

  • If cancellation is done prior to 45 days of outing 75% will be refunded.
    If done prior to 30 days of outing 50% will be refunded.
    After that, no refund will be provided.

Things To Carry:

  • Comfortable Day clothes - (3-4 Pairs Min), Towel, Nightwears, Toiletries
  • Rucksack / Trolley bag -  to carry the following things
  • Sports shoes, Sandals and an extra pair of socks.
  • Sunscreen lotion or any other skin moisturizers
  • Water bottles & Energy bars.
  • A pair of sunglasses and a camera (optional)
  • Caps or hats
  • Basic medication (if any)
  • Torch lights (with spare batteries)
  • Insect repellent and emergency medication if any

Rules&FAQ:

1) Please avoid bringing valuables, jewellery or expensive things, as the organizers will not be responsible for its loss or damage.

2) Everyone has to follow the Instructions of Camp In-charge & Instructors.

3) Keep the campsite Neat & Clean.

4) Timing mentioned in the Itinerary is liable to change as per the circumstances; mentioned timings are for purpose of having an idea.

Really loved this trek.. while going in , the uphill task is a little daunting.

The woods are real thick at some places and ambiance is quite refreshing.

The climb is difficult at some places as there are not well constructed steps.

However, some parts up the fort are steep and takes a challenging climb.

The paths are streams of either bogs or mossy rocks -- each having their own fun hazards.

But that is what keeps the trek natural and exciting.

There are pretty white crabs in the stream-paths -- very interesting.

The trip to top was awesome.

The strong breeze blowing at the top quickly dries off the sweat from the climb too.

This was the week of onslaught of the monsoon, so it was amazing warm monsoon rain and as we got closer there was also mist and fog.

It was green and wet all over.

The view of the surrounding countryside from the top is simply breathtaking. Well worth the climb up.

The fort is in ruins and makes a beautiful place for pictures..

The greenery just added to the awesomeness. the view from top is gorgeous..

There is nothing much to see atop the fort except some water cisterns and the thumbs up point.

The shape of the hill-top is fascinating. It replicates your mood giving you a thumbs up when you finish a couple of tough climbs,

but also taking the opportunity of showing a ""up yours"" when you're struggling.

From the top you can really appreciate the control this fort would have given the incumbent in seasons like this.

Really loved the time spent on top.

There is nothing much to see at the top of the fort except the surroundings.

However, we were treated to a spectacular view from the top.

It indeed feels great once we have reached the top.

But the moment we reached the top, clouds began moving in and all of a sudden it just started pouring..

The sudden change was indeed welcome.

But due to the rains, the path down had become super slippery..

Coming down was difficult in the bad patches due to steepness of the rocky roads.

My research had dismissed the climb as an ""easy"" one: I can attest that in the monsoon rain and fog it is definitely close to the top rating on difficulty.

But this shouldn't daunt you since you're likely to be surrounded

by singing dancing dare-devil fellow trekkers in this season.

There is a small bird sanctuary just at the base.

We were treated to the sights of peacocks and a few little rabbits.

All is well that ends well. It was worth the while, and the victory of surmounting the difficult is always sweet.

Overall Experience was amazing...Simply wow... cannot get over with the great experience...totally spellbound by the beauty of the place...

never felt so close to nature especially after the concrete jungle that is Mumbai

The initial climb is a tough one, the middle is a ridge -- a reward with great views.

The climb is steep but on the bright side very short ( barely 3 kms).

However I feel that this trek does offer a great break from busy and polluted citylife.

In conclusion, trekking up Karnala is a fun and enriching experience.

Thanks to SSA for this beautiful memorable experience... Team leaders were very polite and helpful...The food was provided just like ghar ka khana... Fellow trekkers were so good and friendly... really enjoyed...Once again Thank you SSA....
