Ratangad, which translates to Jewel Fort is approximately 400 yrs old. It boasts a splendid 360-degree view of a range of mountains from its summit. Due to its proximity to Bhandardara, you get a clear birds-eye view of Arthur lake, as well as a glimpse of the famous Kalsubai peak, Harishchandragad and AMK. The Eye of the Needle or Nedhe is a famous attraction on the summit. This trek has a wonderful combination of forest walks, steep ladder climbs and flat trails under canopies. Join us for a night climb filled with wonder, campfire, and stories.

09:30 pm: Board the 07:18 pm Kasara Fast from CST on Saturday night and meet the Vagabond team at Kasara station ticket counter by 09:30 pm.
10:00 pm: We board privately booked vehicles and head to Ratanwadi. On the way, we will stop for dinner at a roadside Dhaba. It'll take approximately 3 hours to reach the village.
1:00 am: We reach Ratanwadi, limber up and get ready to start the trek.
1:30 am: Gear up, pack your bags and get your torches out! It's gonna be a long and dark climb to the top. We will make a few halts on the way to grab a snack or a drink.
5:30 am: We reach the summit, & sit around a campfire waiting for the sun to rise.
7:00 am: At sunrise, all the surrounding mountain ranges become visible. Since Ratangad is on the banks of Bhandardara, you get a gorgeous view of Arthur lake, as well as Kalsubai (the highest mountain of Maharashtra)
7:30 am: We start our descent. Finally, you get a view of the surroundings you climbed through in the night.
10:00 am: We reach back down and gather around for breakfast at the village
11:00 am Time to head back to Kasara station.
02:00 pm: Adios! Back to the mundane city life. Until next time, Vagabonds!

Things to carry:
-Drinking water (min 2 ltr)
-Warm clothes (it gets VERY windy at the summit)
-Torch - VERY IMPORTANT (Headlamp is preferable)
-Please DO NOT miss the 7:18 pm Kasara Fast from CST station. Feel free to board this train from any other station (Byculla 7:25 pm, Dadar 7:31 pm, Kurla 7:38 pm, Ghatkopar 7:42 pm, Mulund 7:54 pm, Thane 7:58 pm) but if you miss this train, you will NOT be able to join us for the trek. Meet us at Kasara stn ticket counter by 9:30 pm. Plan accordingly.
-This is a trek and not a nature trail, we will be ascending and descending slopes through the course of the trek.
-Please wear sturdy closed footwear that won't tear. And do not carry sling bags or any bag that dangles. Try keeping your hands free at all times.
-People with vertigo or phobia of heights should reconsider joining this trek as there are steep climbs through ladders.
-For those of you who haven't trekked before, don't worry, we at Vagabond encourage you to take your time and have a great experience climbing with us. A Vagabond trek isn't about speed, it's about the group experience. For those of you who have trekked before, we encourage you to encourage the beginners and help them through the way.
-Vagabond has a strict no smoking or drinking policy on treks. Please refrain from indulging in either.
-Cancellations made 7 days or more in advance of the event date will incur a 20% cancellation fee.
-Cancellations made within 3 - 6 days will incur a 50% cancellation fee.
-Cancellations made within 48 hours to the event will receive no refund.
