If you have been wanting to learn the art of terracotta modeling or clay modeling then what better way to begin than creating an idol of the Lord of good beginnings - Ganesha.
Just in time for Ganesh Chaturthi, you can join this 3-hour workshop to learn the ropes from a very talented Pottery Artist Priyanka Joshi Ghaisas. Priyanka has a Masters in Fine Art from the prestigious JJ School of Arts, with a specialization in Murals. Priyanka runs her own ceramic studio in Pune and is also a practicing professor at the MIT School of Design at Pune. She has conducted multiple pottery workshops, be it hand-modeling or professional wheel-throwing but is a self-confessed lover of simple hand-modeling of clay/terracotta. We are delighted to bring her workshop to Mumbai for the first time!
Trust her to make the session fun and fulfilling for each and every participant with simple instructions that will break down the technique into easy to follow steps.
What sets this workshop apart: - Not a hobby class! This will be a professionally conducted workshop by a formally educated, young, dynamic and established pottery artist (an alumnus of the prestigious JJ School of Arts). - The idol you create will be a good 6-7 inches (half a feet) in height and will be an aesthetically pleasing work of art and love. - A completely eco-friendly workshop! Terracotta is organic and can be returned to the natural elements with just as much love and devotion during visarjan.
DURATION: 3 hours session - 2pm to 5pm.
SUITABLE for all adults and children (children under 7 years of age to be accompanied by a parent).
FEES are inclusive of all art material required in the workshop.
Note that painting the idol is not included in the workshop but you could do so at home. All material required for the workshop to be provided.
