Experience night trek to scenic Rajmachi. There are two trails to reach Rajamachi, one is from Karjat whereas the most typical famous trail is from Lonavala. We will start our trek from Lonavala in the Night hour and on day 2 during descending towards Karjat we will be visiting one of the beautiful ancient Buddhist caves that are Kondane Caves. We are going to cover both the routes, from Lonavala partly by jeep and then walk up to Udhewadi which is approximately 5 km. The next day we shall descend through Karjat route and visit Kondhane Caves en-route to Kondivade village.
Day 1 Assemble at Lonavala Railway Station - 09:00 PM (Refer how to reach the Venue)
Move to Y junction by hired vehicle - 1 hr. Event Briefing - 15 min. Hike from Y Junction to Udhewadi (Rajmachi) - approx 2 hour. Dinner at Rajmachi Village. Night stay in a homestay on sharing basis. (refer things to bring) Hangout with stories. Bedtime
Day 2: Morning alarm and Freshup - 6. a.m Fresh up and Breakfast at Rajmachi Start descending towards Kondhane village - 8.00 am Visit Kondana caves on the way to base village. The base village to Karjat Railway station by hired vehicle - 1 hour
How to Reach the Venue:
From Mumbai: By train - 05:50 pm 11023 SAHYADRI EXPRESS from Mumbai CSTM to Lonavala By road - Reach Lonavala Railway station ticket counter by 9:00 p.m.
From Pune: By train - 07.05 pm Pune to Lonavala local train. By road - Reach Lonavala Railway station ticket counter by 9:00 p.m.
Lonavala - Y Junction by hired vehicle, Veg dinner, homestay (dorm stay) on DAY1, breakfast, transport from Kondana base village - Karjat by a hired vehicle on DAY2.
Travel to Lonavala. If we incur extra expenses it will be shared accordingly.
Things to Wear
Trekking shoes/ Outdoor boots/ sports shoes with good grip. Comfortable quick-dry clothes (avoid tights, casuals, trousers).
Things to Carry Carry a single rucksack with the following things: Minimum 3 litres of water.a Dry fruits, ready to eat food like Thepla, chocolates, snacks, fluids (e.g. Electral powder, Glucon D, etc.) Bedding that includes a Sleeping bag or blanket (mandatory). Raincoat or Poncho Cap/ Hat/mosquito repellent. torch with extra pair of battery toiletry kit, tissue roll. Spare set of clothes, a towel. Strictly no littering, carry an extra bag for non-biodegradable (plastic) wastage. Personal medicines if any.
