Do you remember those childhood days when the cycle was the only vehicle we had? We used to spend our holidays on cycles with our childhood buddies... It was indeed an awesome feeling!

Here there is a small initiative taken by us to freshen up those childhood memories.

We will be exploring the city at night.

The nightlife of Mumbai is quite happening and this midnight cycling event is just an attempt to look at Mumbai nightlife from a different lens.

This curated Bicycle Ride is all about falling in love with the empty streets, windy sea-facing roads, and the silence.

It was wonderful riding the Mumbai roads in the wee hours of the morning.Rating on a few parameters-Communication - I received the rondezvous point and route details and was added to the ride group within 15 mins of booking. Akshay was at the designated spot even though I reached a half hour before time. So there were no loose ends.Ride support- There were 3-4 people with us through the ride, providing hydration and motivation whenever needed. The machines - I think overall the bikes were well maintained. My brakes locked impressively and the tyre treads were absolutely fresh. Good to have a mix of geared and non-geared bikes. We took ample rests in between, and completed the ride in perfect time to catch the first local out. There are a few things which need serious consideration here.1) Lack of head gear- No helmets were handed out. A cyclist is probably the most vulnerable of the road users. How can it be ok riding without one? Along with the cycles, as a standard the helmets ought to be provided.2) The use of Plastic bottles - Please make it mandatory for participants to carry their own bottles/ sippers. It is already mentioned that they carry a backpack and snacks. You can carry around a 20Litre keg of water and they can ask for a refill. At least the additional plastic waste will not be generated. Please set this example, which other organizers can emulate.Team Live Before You Die, Thank you for the lovely riding experience. - by Nitesh Mathur for Cycling Under The Moon-Light .

Firstly, if you are planning for the monsoon treks around the season, they are gonna be a good experience because the weather is awesome. If you are taking the help of an events organizer, you want them to add to the experience rather than making you feel annoyed even admist the pleasant surroundings. Live before you die is a poor organizer of Kalsubai trek and it is better to avoid them. Both the trek leaders Smit and Kaustubh were lacking in experience of leading a trek. I have done treks previously on my own as well as with event organisers but this one with Live before you die was one of the worst experiences I have had. Both the trek leaders had no value for time and from the start itself were not at all bothered to go as per the plan. We finally left at 7 pm against the plan of 4 pm and it would have been even more late if left up to the organziers. There was even no proper planning to have the size of the group equal to the capacity of bus and last minute adjustments were being made. The same was an issue while return as well. Both the trek leaders failed to help the group in crucial moments of ascent as well as descent during the trek and people were doing it on their own. The trek isn't hard but rain had made the tracks very slippery. I have saved the worst part for last. The trek leaders instead of letting the group sleep the night before in the bus played music throughout with singing and antakshiri which made it more of a picnic and was evident in how some of the people not being able to handle the strain tge next day because of lack of sleep. There are other pointers as well but I guess I would have made myself clear. Please go to Kalsubai trek but not with Live before you die. - by Abishake Koul for Monsoon Special Trek To Mt.
