Details

Bohada Tribal Festival (Jawhar) in association with Jawhar Tourism.

Bohada is a mask festival of the tribes in Thane and Nashik celebrated every year in the months of April-May. Bohada which means procession displays masked characters that depict the tribal concept of creation and their role in sustaining their life.

The festival is a major attraction for the tribal and non-tribal people from the nearby areas. In this festival, 52 masks of Indian Gods and Goddesses are exhibited. Mask owners wear these masks and give several performances during the celebration. The purpose of Bohada is to show gratitude to the village goddess including all other gods and goddesses.

Day 1
10:30 - Reach Jawhar and proceed with the local sightseeing.
12:30 - Check-in to the hotel. Refresh and proceed towards Dhaparpada Village.
13:00 - Lunch at Dhaparpada village.
14:00 - Paper mache mask making the workshop.
16:00 - Warli Painting and tattoo workshop.
18:00 - Evening refreshments
19:00 - Folk Dance
21:00 - Dinner will be served.

Post dinner we will proceed to enjoy the famous Bohada Festival for the entire night. Witnessing the enthusiastic performances of the villagers will be the highlight of your trip.

Day 2
Wake up as per your leisure.
9:00 - Breakfast will be served. Post breakfast you will be lead on a short jungle trail.
13:00 - Lunch at the village.
14:00 - Paper mache mask making the workshop.
16:00 - Indulge yourself in local games or bird watching.
18:00 - Start return journey with loads of memories that will last a lifetime.
