Mumbai midnight Coastal cycle ride: City that never sleeps is very well known for everyone. There are many ways to explore Mumbai, one can explore the city of dreams at night on pedals. Its dark at night but our cycle ride will be very colorful and safe at the same time. Mumbai mid-night cycling ride is kind of tour wherein we will be visiting important places of the city. One can surely try hands-on night photography on the way. Many architectural sites/buildings/monuments are decorated very well with colorful lights. There will be tour leaders to guide you throughout the night and will be riding with you.


  • 11:00 pm: Meet at Madras Café, Colaba Causeway, and cycle distribution.
  • 11:30 pm: Start Ride from Colaba Causeway to Bandra Bandstand.

Sunday: 05:00 am: Reach bandstand.

  • Please avoid wearing Gold and other jewelry.

  • Can I bring my own cycle?
    No, as package includes cycle rent wherein we provide quality branded cycles with helmets.
  • Are cycles geared or non-geared?
    It depends on the distance of cycle ride. Majority times we provide geared-cycles.
  • Total km we will be riding?
    Approx 20 km
  • Washrooms facility?
    On the way there will be halt for washroom
  • Is Mumbai midnight cycle ride the good for beginners?
    Yes, Its a city ride and suitable for beginners
  • Is it safe for girls to join?
    For all events of SSA, majority time male-female ratio is 50-50%. Apart from that its a cycle ride in the city wherein you will find presence of Mumbai Police throughout night. Also, we have tour leaders who will be there with you from start to end.

Really loved this trek.. while going in , the uphill task is a little daunting.

The woods are real thick at some places and ambiance is quite refreshing.

The climb is difficult at some places as there are not well constructed steps.

However, some parts up the fort are steep and takes a challenging climb.

The paths are streams of either bogs or mossy rocks -- each having their own fun hazards.

But that is what keeps the trek natural and exciting.

There are pretty white crabs in the stream-paths -- very interesting.

The trip to top was awesome.

The strong breeze blowing at the top quickly dries off the sweat from the climb too.

This was the week of onslaught of the monsoon, so it was amazing warm monsoon rain and as we got closer there was also mist and fog.

It was green and wet all over.

The view of the surrounding countryside from the top is simply breathtaking. Well worth the climb up.

The fort is in ruins and makes a beautiful place for pictures..

The greenery just added to the awesomeness. the view from top is gorgeous..

There is nothing much to see atop the fort except some water cisterns and the thumbs up point.

The shape of the hill-top is fascinating. It replicates your mood giving you a thumbs up when you finish a couple of tough climbs,

but also taking the opportunity of showing a ""up yours"" when you're struggling.

From the top you can really appreciate the control this fort would have given the incumbent in seasons like this.

Really loved the time spent on top.

There is nothing much to see at the top of the fort except the surroundings.

However, we were treated to a spectacular view from the top.

It indeed feels great once we have reached the top.

But the moment we reached the top, clouds began moving in and all of a sudden it just started pouring..

The sudden change was indeed welcome.

But due to the rains, the path down had become super slippery..

Coming down was difficult in the bad patches due to steepness of the rocky roads.

My research had dismissed the climb as an ""easy"" one: I can attest that in the monsoon rain and fog it is definitely close to the top rating on difficulty.

But this shouldn't daunt you since you're likely to be surrounded

by singing dancing dare-devil fellow trekkers in this season.

There is a small bird sanctuary just at the base.

We were treated to the sights of peacocks and a few little rabbits.

All is well that ends well. It was worth the while, and the victory of surmounting the difficult is always sweet.

Overall Experience was amazing...Simply wow... cannot get over with the great experience...totally spellbound by the beauty of the place...

never felt so close to nature especially after the concrete jungle that is Mumbai

The initial climb is a tough one, the middle is a ridge -- a reward with great views.

The climb is steep but on the bright side very short ( barely 3 kms).

However I feel that this trek does offer a great break from busy and polluted citylife.

In conclusion, trekking up Karnala is a fun and enriching experience.

Thanks to SSA for this beautiful memorable experience... Team leaders were very polite and helpful...The food was provided just like ghar ka khana... Fellow trekkers were so good and friendly... really enjoyed...Once again Thank you SSA....
