Move over the much-hyped and now crowded Leh Ladakh. If Cold desserts, clear turquoise blue water lakes & rivers, epic landscapes and far off monasteries are your thing, then Spiti lies much ahead in the race than Ladakh!! Spiti is rightly called a travelers muse. Be careful though- the colossal sky, vast mountains, and glittering stars might have such a long-lasting effect on your heart that you might never want to leave this heaven!
Drive through one of the most beautiful picture-perfect roads in the world while halting along in dreamy mountain villages. This Spiti Valley road trip from Shimla goes through Kalpa of the Kinnaur Valley and finally enters Spiti through the village of Nako. Explore ancient thousand-year-old monasteries, trek to hidden lakes, ride a Yak, live in authentic homestays and spend time in some of the highest villages in Asia.
Dubbed as The world's most adventurous road, the Hindustan-Tibet highway is a visual masterpiece. Don't let that misnomer frighten you because, despite its hairpin curves and steep drops, this road has been safely ferrying travelers since the 1850s.
We can go on and on raving about this "Traveler's mecca and a virgin paradise", but we'd rather leave it up to you; to come explore this mystic land with us and go back with a thousand reasons as to why going to this week-long exploration into the unknown could be a life-changing trip for you!

Our journey will begin from the capital of India, Delhi! We'll escape the maddening heat of this city as we board our bus from here to Manali. We'll share the exact meet-up point once we get your confirmation.
We reach Manali at dawn. After breakfast and refreshments, we start our journey towards Kaza, the district center of Spiti! It's gonna be a very long journey. We'll make our way through the mystic Rohtang Pass and onwards to Kaza. We will stop en route for lunch and snacks before we reach our homestay late at night.
We're diving right in today! We'll head to the Langza-Hikkim- Komik Trail. After breakfast, our first stop will be Langza- the Fossil Village. These mountains once used to be beaches and some parts were submerged under the sea. (WHOAAAAA) :O Because of which this place boasts of a very high number of fossils that you could find literally while just walking around. From Langza we will take the trail to Komik, the home of the world's highest post office. Don't forget your friends' addresses to send a postcard from here (Hello, ex-boyfriend!) :P We'll end the trail in Komik; the highest village in Asia and spend the rest of the evening at leisure in Kaza.
After an early breakfast, we're going to the iconic Key Monastery. If we're lucky we'll get to witness the morning rituals of the monks of the monastery. Also, please take some time out and meditate for a while here in the monastery's secret chambers. You'll feel the change within yourself :)
Well also stop by the Chicham Bridge and Kibber village (famous for its snow leopard population) for some photos. Dinner at the homestay.
After having a hearty breakfast, we'll make our way to the Dhankar. This used to be the capital of Spiti back in the day. Dhankar is also famous for its fort ruins and the lake. We will take a short trek to see the lake nearby. After this hike, we make our way into the Pin Valley National Park. We're going to the innermost village of the national park - Mudh. It is a hamlet surrounded by beautiful mountains on all sides. We'll check in at our homestay here and relax.
Today's plan - CHILL. We'll do absolutely nothing and follow it up some more nothing. But hey, the views here are something else. You can sit by the river, walk through the meadows or just lie down and watch the clouds. You can also just sit in your room and maybe paint for a little while. You do you!
After breakfast, we commence the last leg of our journey in the Valley. We'll go to see the renowned mummy of Geu. This 650-year-old mummy is the only one of its kind in the world. (Yeah, there are mummies in INDIA too!) From Geu, we'll head to the ancient town of Tabo and check-in at our homestay. Tabo is most famous for the oldest continuously functioning monastery in India. You can shop your heart out and buy some local artifacts to take back home. Experience local delicacies for dinner.
Post breakfast, we bid farewell to the valley. We'll head on towards Chandratal Lake today. It's a bit tiring journey, but it will all be worth it when you see the magical moonlit lake and camp by its pristine waters!
After having our tummies full, we start our journey back home. We'll proceed to Manali in order to catch the evening bus back to Delhi.
We will arrive back in Delhi in the morning before 08:30ish in the morning. Step back to reality. Back to the mundane city lives! :(
Until next time then, Junglees! :*
