Keeping the chosen material (in this case wool) in the centre of the performance, material theatre explores the possibilities of artistic creation with ordinary material. The performer always stays behind the material and lets the material 'speak'. Materials of course speak in their own special way - without words and through images. It is a sensorial kind of communication reaching very young children through sight, sound, symbols, senses, breaking down traditional ideas of theatre performances. It pushed cognition through sensorial interpretations, which are as unique as each individual child.

This is also the politics of this kind of theatre. It means not only 'using' the material in the artistic work and not always putting the human being in the front. it also means putting the things/world that is around us before us.
