Kumara Parvatha is said to be one of the most difficult treks in Southern India. With 14 km of steep ascend, with quite a few water resources on the way, in sunny and humid weather, All adds up more difficulty.Having said about the trek itself and out of 25, more than 15 people being a first-timers, the trek leaders did a really great job of pushing everyone as much as they can, while keeping the fun quotient high. When 25 unknown people are travelling together, one of the hardest things is to break the ice and to be honest; Naveen, Abhishek and Vishal(Trek Leaders) did a great part here and in just a couple of hours, the entire group was in sync with everyone.There was no compromise in the quality of gears provided to us by PTU. And everyone was well taken care of. If there have to be any improvements, I would suggest an itinerary change. Rather than aiming the KP peak on day 1 itself, it would be really easy to just trek to Bhattarmane on day 1, have rest and aim for KP the next early morning. Descending 14 km in a day is comparatively easier than ascending. This can be pre-communicated to the group so that they can make arrangements for Monday morning regarding work.Everything went smooth, we were able to almost reach the peak and the entire trek came along with a great sense of achievements, few really good friends, and a wonderful experience. This was such a memorable trip not only because of the first time in Scuba diving. Also solely because i chose PTU for this. The organiser was just amazing. The way he planned up amazing things for us when he found extra time to how he made the trip entertaining and fun. He was one of the best. The only disappointment was that the driver for the van was tired and sleepy while driving which was scary. Again, the organiser Abhilash handled things well. And he honestly gave his ears when requested for anything. There Scuba diving, snorkeling and Banavasi trip were well organised and i have nothing to complain about. PTU can be soo much trusted for a pleasant weekend. Definitely will be using the service again. Wobbly rocks, saline waters and most brutal of all - THE SUN!!! Nevertheless, nothing really can stop the high energy of the enthusiastic trek leads - Prakrithi and Shubham. This was truly a unique experience as what we expected was mere beach hoping but this was more than that - a full fledged work out in the sun - hiking, climbing, balancing, holding balmy rocks for support (nah! those rocks were smoking HOT!) we did it all! This would not have been possible if it wasn't for the motivated and motivating Prakriti, supportive and cool Shuham. The best part was I went with 2 of my other friends so "FUN" was guaranteed! This trek was fantastic. This was my first one with PTU. Oshin, Rakshitha, Hitesh, Shubham, Any and Shruti (our trek leads) were all really helpful. All 25 of us had a great time. Gokarna/Kumta Beach trek : Pros : - AC bus(Semi-sleeper), R bus was 20 seater.- They provide accomodation(Tent) with sleeping bag.- They are communicative, I haven't felt like I'm on a solo trip.- Homely Food.- We can do swimming in most of the beaches.- Rock climming.- Journey time utilized in playing games.- Restrooms are clean at all stays.Cons : - Hard to find cons. - At last the trip ends and v had to return to r normal life.- One star less as I was not expecting this trip to end, still it ended.Experience : R trip was a combination of two terks(Gokarna and Kumta) due to a holiday on Rajyotsava. This was first solo trip of my life, and first trip in bangalore.day 0 : Jouney started early morning(5:30 am) form Swad-E-Punjab,HSR Layout. Around 9 am we reached a restaurant where v had r breakfast. During whole journey v were playing many interesting games. Reached Gokarna by around 9 pm. Had Dinner at a restaurant near beach. Then spent time singing songs in front of bonfire and looking a shooting stars. Seperate room for boys and girls was there to keep r bags. Restrooms were in good condition. Test was also good, with proper ventilation. I was not willing to waste my time in sleeping, still sleeped at around 1am.day 1 : I had set an alarm to getup early (5am). Swtiched that alarm off then had some more sleep. Gotup at sunrise, spent some time jogging on beach, looking fishermen fishing at beach. Till then morning breakfast was ready to eat, v submited r tifin box for lunch. After breakfast v left Gokarna, and head towards more beaches i.e. OM beach, paradise beach, half moon beach, Rock of peace, Rock climbing, deadly beach etc. at last v saw sunset. Luckly the climate was on r side. Then left towards Kumta. Stay at Kumta was awesome. Food was also good. The bonfire was lit, v sat near it , playing many games of card, singing song, watching stars, this time v didn't wish to sleep in tent though the tent was alloted to us, the beach was clean so v sleeped on beach itself watching stars.day 2 : Gotup early asusual. Did some jogging on beach. The v got ready for early morning trek beside beach. This trek was a thrill as there were horn trees beside track. V enjoyed the trek got to the top. The view from the top was beathtaking, a totally new world. Spent some time there and decent back to stay.Then had breakfast which was awesome and tasted homely with tea. Then v head towards Vibhuti waterfall. The waterfall was awesome, had two spots to jump into it. The depth at the point where the water falls was more then 9 feet, so no chance to get hurt. I know swimming so jumped twice form higher point and once from lower point. Then v head towards a village home where v changed r clothes. Then had lunch at a Dhaba kindof restaurent, This time also food was awesome and homely and omlet was also nice, and that too at very less cost. Ater lunch v head back towards Bangalore, again playing games in bus, with disco in bus as bus had disco lighting. The bus also had awesome speaker with subwoofer.I will definately plan for next trip with them most probably KP (Kumar Parvat) trek, as I'm a trekker. Some comments about trek leads :Jatin : He is a good listner. No matter how bad or good it is, he is always ready to listen to what you say or whatever your dought is. This shows his experience too. (Listening is a quality rarely found in people nowadays). His speech is also cool and dance sexy.Deeksha : I wish to have communication skills like her.Prakrati : Nice. A Perfect Escapade From Our Mundane LifeI was a part of their Gokarna and Kumta trek and it was my first trek with PTUPros - Basic necessities are taken care of very well. The washroom near the camps are clean, the food provided is tasty and the tents are comfortable.something which I didn't expect on such treks.Now coming to the trip itself. To be honest for me it was a whole another experience which I didn't know I was missing all my life. I made some awesome friends and we are still in touch. Amd these friends included the trek leaders as well. A typical trip for me is like staying in a hotel, book a vehicle for sight-seeing, sometimes we might have to trek a little to reach a particular place, and return. But PTU changed the whole perception. Imagine being in a trip where you are counting shooting stars and star gazing all night. Imagine not only experiencing the beach view but also early morning treks to highest viewpoint to get a breathtaking view of the beach and the mountains. Imagine cliff jumping into a waterfall even though you do not know swimming. These were some of the extraordinary experience which we had in the trip.Trek leaders- We were accompanied by three wonderful and professional trek leaders: Jatin, Prakrithi and Deeksha. For me personally, these guys were the most amazing people i have met in Bangalore till now and I am not even sugarcoating it. They took care of us like a family and made sure we enjoyed to the fullest. With Jatin's storytelling, Prakrithi's knowledge of games and songs and Deeksha's sassiness, there was never a boring moment in the trip.Cons - Times flies pretty fast and all of the exciting times eventually comes to an end.I would definitely recommend everyone to plan a trip with PTU atleast once get a unique experience of life! It has been a treat to be a part of PTU me being exploratory trek team member. Thanks to Jatin and Prakrithi for an awesome memory. Gokarna trek the most beautiful because of the beaches, and it was awesome beacause of PTU. This was my first camping experience and was just perfect.What else you need, when u sleep under the sky full of star hearing the waves and open your eyes with the scenic beauty of beach.Gokarna would never be better without PTU.Thanks Jatin, for motivating all the trekkers to climb the rock, thanks for pushing us, just to understand that we are all limitless. Might be bit lengthy to read.....hope you don't regret if you miss to plan a trek with the PTU(plan the unplanned)This was my first trek with my bestie no doubt was one of the awesome one because of PTU.Journey - it was a long journey in gmaps but for us it was not with the icebreakers and the way the trek leads made us comfortable to interact.Food - homely food was the best part in this trip and they way we all sat together like a family and had meals was memorable.Destination Arrived - At night we freshened up(don't worry girls the washrooms are good) walk on the beach , campfire and the stargazing was the best part. Trekking - Next day we started our trekking since it was my first trek i was exhausted soon but my team never complaint even when we took small breaks of 10 or 5 min and the way the trek leads encouraged.Day 2 no one was sleeping in tent we all were fascinated with the star gazing and slept out.Rock climbing. - this rock near moon beach was tough to climb for a first time trekking people but the way the trek lead Jatin encouraged and supported all the 12 members had climbed successfully.Day 3 Vibudi waterfalls all of us had a great time here with a great homely food prepared for lunch post heading back to Bangalore.Trek Leads - Prakriti - was good at interacting with all , do not carry headphones else you will miss the best singer , Deeksha always active to help and funnyJatin - best in entertainment .Sad part to bid best trek memories for life. - by Kavitha Reddy for Gokarna Beach Trek & Camping | Plan the Unplanned organized by Plan The Unplanned .
If you are someone who loves beaches and the seafood, who is ready for some sun and tan, then guys, get your bags packed for Gokarna Beach trek and camping adventure with Plan The Unplanned. So for the first day of your trek, you get to cover five beaches in a row and that's handful. Make sure you enjoy some seafood at kudle Beach with some peppy music and dance for dinner. And for the second day, you will first visit vibhooti Falls. Dare to do a cliff jump here. You will be given life jackets and don't miss it, for it's truly a great experience and a snack for some adrenaline rush. Second, you will visit Mirjan Fort and will love it for its ancient royalty. The trek leads, Akansha, Deepika, Mautushi were awesome and energetic. They made the solo Travellers feel very comfortable. With their signature games and stuffs, the moment was made lively and memorable. They brought the whole group together as one and that's the best thing. The food in the home stay was really good. Nights in the tent, by the side of the breezy beach, sunrise and sunset, who would not love it? So, plan the unplanned is doing a great job and kudos to the entire team. Awesome experience!!Was a bit anxious as I joined the Kodachadri trek as Solo trekker. But the ice breaking sessions & games to memorise co-trekkers names really helped in getting along well. Nice and warm home stay, tasty food served with love. Trek leaders Rakshitha & Prakrithi s motivation kept us going thru the rocky,plain and steep terrains and reach the peak.Breath taking views from the peak,waterfalls, jeep ride made the difficult trek worth it :) Trek leaders also made sure we enjoyed throughout the bus journey by organising games and singing/playing songs. Since we reached back Bangalore late than the scheduled time , they made sure I reached home safe.I'm really thankful to PTU for making my first trek worth remembering !!! This was my first time with PTU. And it really was an unplanned event. Although I was planning with thrillophillia but they ditched at the end. But I would say I'm lucky to have joined this group for the Kodachadri trek. It was a beautiful experience soaked in the nature with mesmerizing views and enchanting waterfalls. We were a group of 16 with 2 trek leaders Dipika and Mayank. It was amazing to see such young duo pulling it off so well. From transport to accomodation to meals all was taken care very swiftly. I learned a lot in this trip including the motif to spread awareness in people to stop using plastic not littering around, and sow seeds as many as you can. It wasn't just a trek but a learning in process. Frankly I was a little sceptical about the food and accommodation. Accomodation was a basic local Homestay. But to my surprise, the host at the Homestay were a very warm n humble couple who welcomed us with all hearts. Aunty cooked such nice n light meals. She packed lunch for us for the trek as well. Trust me, you do not need to worry for stay and food hygiene. It was well chosen. And we had a nice time in the late evening after the trek, we played games and team building activities on the way. All in all, PTU exceeded my expectations. Am definitely planning another one with them!! For a first timer and a solo trekker, the experience was amazing and flawless. There are many fun games organised during the trip to help you get out of your comfort zone and mingle with the group!
