Ratangad means jewel of forts and carried importance before the British rule. The forts like Alang, Madan, Kulang and areas like Rajur and Sokali were under the supervision of this fort. We will be ascending the fort from Ratanwadi village through Ganesh gate, visit the caves and head towards nedhe (needle point) through Hanuman gate. However before heading to the nedhe we'll cover other noteworthy points like Ranichi Huda bastion, half buried Konkan Darwaja, various water cisterns, etc. Later we move towards nedhe, rest here for a while amongst the cool breeze. We'll proceed our descend towards Samrad village from Trimbak darwaja through the interesting rock cut steps.


Difficulty: Moderate, Highest Elevation: 1295m, distance: 12 k.m. approx.

• Homemade food prepared on firewood.


• Sonki flowers throughout Ratangad fort trail.

  • Reporting time at Kasara 01:15 AM (Take 10:50 P.M. CSMT - Kasara local train on Saturday Night.

  • Travel by hired jeep from Kasara to Samrad with snacks break at dhaba on Kasara highway - 3 hours.

  • Reach Samrad village - 5:30 a.m tentatively

  • Fresh up & Breakfast at base village - 30 minutes.

  • Travel to Ratanwadi village - 30 minutes.

  • Introduction & event briefing - 15 minutes.

  • Ascent trek to Ratangad from Ratanwadi village (3 hours approx)

  • Explore Ratangad fort (1 hour)

  • Descent trek to Samrad village (3 hours approx)

  • Lunch break at Samrad village - 1 hour

  • Return journey by hired jeep from Samrad to Kasara railway station - 3 hours.

Excluded: Snacks expenses on the highway.

How to Register:

Step -1: Go through the following online payment

Step-2: After payment you will be requested to fill up the Mandatory  Online disclaimer form.

Step -3: Now your participation is confirmed & Organizer will create WhatsApp group on the day of the event for coordination, We will coordinate through SMS/ Call if participant is not available in WhatsApp.

 What to Wear:

  • Trekking shoes /Outdoor boots with good grip.

  • Comfortable quick dry clothes (avoid jeans).


What to Bring:

Carry a single rucksack with the following things:

  • Minimum 2 liters of water.

  • Ready to eat food like Fruits, Dry fruits, Tepla, etc as an appetite backup.

  • A portable waterproof pouch to protect mobile, wallet and camera.

  • Toiletry kit.

  • Spare set of clothes, socks.

  • Strictly no littering, carry extra bag for non biodegradable (plastic) wastage.

  • Personal medicines if any.

  • ID Proof is mandatory.




• After online payment, the participant must fill up the online mandatory disclaimer form with accurate details, else he/she will be asked to refill it by the event host. Entry into the event shall be confirmed only once the disclaimer form is filled.


• Please do not cause delays & inconvenience to others and impact the schedule.


• Below 18 participants must take the consent of their parents to participate.


• Participants will be notified in advance when the itinerary is changed or the event gets cancelled due to any unforeseen circumstances.


• If there is any unexpected change in the weather during the event, organizers have the right to withdraw/ retreat.


• Participants should pay for the expenses that are not mentioned in the list.


• Event schedule may get delayed or advanced due to unforeseen conditions, hence timings haven't been mentioned, except for the event start and end time.


• Alcohol consumption/ smoking tobacco/ weed is strictly prohibited. Participant will be expelled from the event If found with consumption.


• Please do not litter the surroundings with any plastic (biscuit pack covers, candy wrappers, sanitary napkins, etc.). We are highly commited to zero trace policy..


• Washroom facility is available at Samrad village


• Participants should be coordinated, disciplined and should align together as a team during the event.


• Please do not expect any luxury facilities, and we appreciate you being cooperative with your fellow ramblers.


• Though we assure safety as our top priority, Event Organizers are not responsible for any severe injuries or fatal accidents.


• No group discount is applicable.


• We rely on third party payment gateways to make the registration process simple and easy, It also includes the convenience fee along with the main event fee which will be shown at check out that should be borne by the participant.


• If participant cancels their registration one day before the event or on the day of the event, a refund of 50% is paid.


• No refund will be provided if the participant doesn't show up on the day of the event.
