The Legal Talks conducted by DraftCraft International under the initiative 'Consumer And The Law' are only informative in nature and delivered 'Without Prejudice'. Participants must obtain a legal opinion in writing before relying on any advice or to furnish it as an 'exhibit' or supportive document in a legal process. Legal Talks are held regularly in Mumbai to discuss pertinent Consumer Rights issues and laws. The talks are conducted by Solicitor Gajanan Khergamker.
IN FOCUS: Restaurants and Deficiency in Goods and Service* Restaurants, fast food joints and food delivery agencies are all covered under the Consumer Protection Act. If you, as a consumer, find the food or water not matching the outlet's claims of quality, quantity or cleanliness, it tantamounts to misrepresentation and concurrently, a deficiency in goods and service. You could move a consumer forum. This legal talk discusses options available to consumers and the legal pitfalls for those running a food business.
* A fresh issue is chosen regularly for discussion, so keep watching this space or follow us on Facebook and Twitter for changes and new topics of discussion.
