The Himalayas have always been a dream getaway destination for all people alike. The might of these mountains added with the hospitality of its people and the fresh air is addictive- and we're not to be blamed ;)
What if we told you that we're gonna backpack across the heart of the Himalayas, in the Winters, when there's snow EVERYWHERE and do a little bit of everything: Take up a scenic trek, make a snowman, stay in the rustic homestays sipping on a hot cup of tea and staring out the window into the infinite mountains, relax in a natural hot water spring and... Well, where's the fun if we spill it all right here?
To say the least, this is going to be the backpacking trip you've been looking forward to all your life; so don't even be in a dilemma, just pack your bags and join in!!

Trip duration: 7N / 8D
Dates: 19th (Sun) - 26th (Sun) Jan, '20
Cost: INR 14200 (Mumbai-Mumbai)
- Expect a lot of SNOW!!! (And make a Snowman!)
- Experience winters in the heart of Himalayas like never before :D
- Explore lesser-known villages like Pulga, Manikaran, Kalga
- Trek to the scenic and unknown village of Rasol
- Stay in the lap of Himalayas and experience local lifestyle and food
- Visit pristine pine forests & Parvati river
- Explore the Kasol market
Day 1: Unlike others, our journey DOES NOT begin at Delhi, it begins right here in Mumbai! :D
We have booked train tickets in the Garib Rath Express (3 AC Class), and we all go together- playing loads of games and having the time of our lives in the train journey itself (Remember YJHD?)
Day 2: We reach in the morning at Delhi after which we give you free time to explore the Capital City. Go explore the street food here, or visit the famous Red Fort & India Gate! We assemble at R.K. Ashram Metro station (Pillar no. 9) by 5:00 pm from where we board our bus to Bhuntar. Say goodbye to pollution, traffic, the fast-paced city life and probably even network connectivity.
Day 3: After reaching Bhuntar early in the morning, we'll make our way to Kasol, where we settle into our homestays. You can enjoy the rest of the day at leisure, exploring this hippie paradise and go cafe hopping, maybe try out the famous Israeli / Continental cuisines! Not forgetting to mention, Kasol has got a famous night market too- which shouldn't be missed!
We hit the sheets early after dinner because tomorrow's the BIG DAY we've all been waiting for!
Day 4: Today we trek to the not-so-famous Rasol village! The trek's 12 km long, so it will test you. But worry not the scenic forests and the picturesque snow-capped mountains of the Himalayas will make up for it. And of course, the end reward of staying in a cosy rustic homestay in the lap of Himalayas, completely disconnected from the world is so, so worth it!
There'll be bonfire too, just in case you're wondering ;)
Day 5: We check out from our cosy little homestay early in the morning and retrace our way back down through the same scenic route. Once we're back to base, we'll make our way to the heart of Parvati Valley today- Kalga!
Kalga Village located at an altitude of 2298m in Parvati Valley is a lesser-known village beyond the settlement of Barshaini near Kasol and is surely a travellers delight with giving a feel of closeness to nature.
With the sky almost kissing the snow-covered peaks and plentiful of alpine beauty the place offers a most alluring get away from the usual hustle and bustle of a village.
(We know you've already started imagining)
The most ideal way to explore this hamlet is to undertake long walks and discover the pretty delights of its mountain scenery. Overnight stay at Kalga.
Day 6: Today's our last day in this beautiful valley. We'll make the most of it by exploring the remainder of the rustic neighbouring village namely- Pulga, the pristine untouched pinewood wonderland! We finally make our way to Manikaran Sahib in the afternoon and have langar.
Make sure you go shopping and get those jholas, souvenirs & the famous Himachal jewellery. We'll head to Bhuntar right after and take a bus back to Delhi in the evening.
Day 7: We reach Delhi in the morning and immediately make our way to the railway station to board the Garib Rath Express back to Mumbai!
Day 8: Reach Mumbai. Goodbye new friends, goodbye mountains but surely not for long! :)
