Acroyoga is a physical pracwhich combines yoga and acrobatics. It includes many types of partner and group Acrobatics.
It teaches you to make quick decisions, proprioception or the awareness of your body moving through space takes practice. Acro yoga trains you to master self-control without rigidity attaching to external circumstances because anything can shift and kick you off your center.
There are three primary roles in acro yoga: base, flyer, and spotter.
Base: this is an individual who has the most point of contact with the ground. Often this person lying on the ground with full back torso on the ground.
Flyer:. This is the individual who is elevated off the ground by the base. The flyer can move into a series of dynamic positions and generally let's gravity do the work for them. A flyer needs balance, confidence and core strength.
Spotter:. This is the individual who has an objective view of partners whose entire focus is on making sure that the flyer lands safely in case of slips. The spotter can also make recommendations to base and flyer to improve their forms.
