Dream of snow-crowned mountains dotted with picture-perfect villages? Fancy a stay amid mountainous terrains outlined by restless rivers making merry on the rocks? If yes, you must plan a vacation in Spiti! The Spiti Valley Road trip is the most engrossing vacation you need to revitalize and rediscover yourself.  

At a distance of 202 km to the northeast of Manali, the scantily populated land of Spiti separates the Indian mainland from Tibet autonomous region. For tourists, it offers everything serene – from lush green land looming into the vastness to pre-historic monasteries resembling paintings on canvas. 



Day 1: Bus from Delhi to Manali.

We will take a Volvo from  Delhi to Manali today at 8 pm, to reach Manali the next morning. 


Day 2:  Free day in Manali. 

Check in to the hotel. Freshen up. This day is free to explore Manali. There are a couple of places you can visit like Ashish, Jogni falls, Hidimba temple, Solang Valley. It is better to hire a bike for this day and explore Manali, the outskirts are really beautiful. In the evening you should do a cafe hopping in Old Manali as there are plenty of beautiful cafes out there. 


Day 3: Manali – Rohtang Pass – Kunzum La – Kaza. 

Today we will start our journey to Spiti Valley. Kaza, the biggest village in Spiti Valley is our home for the next three nights. The distance from Manali to Kaza is 200 Km, which takes around 10 hours to reach. You will cross the famous Rohtang pass and Kunzum Pass on the way. Spend some time at both the passes and cherish nature. Overnight stay in a hotel in Kaza. 


Day 4:  Kaza - Key Monastery - Kibber - Pin Valley - Kaza.

Kaza being at a height of above 3800 m is quite high in altitude. You should drink a lot of water in order to keep yourself acclimatized. Today we will go to Key monastery, the oldest in Spiti region here you can learn about the Buddhist culture and if you trek for 20 minutes opposite to the monastery, you will get views which are just picture perfect. Followed by Kibber, being at a height of 4250 m, you will cross the Chicham pass, which is the highest bridge in Asia. After having lunch in Kibber, we will head towards Mud, a micro village in the Pin valley national park. We will reach back Kaza by dinner time. Overnight in Kaza, 


Day 5: Kaza – Hikkim – Langza – Kaza.

Post breakfast we will start for Langza, this is a place where there is a huge Buddha statue among the snow-capped mountains, this place is one of the most beautiful places in Spiti Valley. Spend some time here before heading to Hikkim, which is a village that is home to the highest post office in the world. Send your loved ones a postcard from here to make them feel special. Overnight in Kaza. 


Day 6: Kaza – Chicham – Kunzum La – Chandra taal lake. 

Post breakfast we will say goodbye to Kaza and head for the next destination: Chandrataal lake. It is one of the most beautiful high altitude lakes in India. Hailing at a height of 4300, this place is worth the visit and time. Cross the beautiful Chicham bridge and Kunzum La to reach the lake. Overnight in camps at Chandrataal lake. 



Day 7: Chandra Taal – Rohtang pass – Manali, overnight bus to Delhi.

After having breakfast with a view, head towards Manali crossing the Rohtang pass. You will be back to the vegetation and civilization today. We will head to our bus towards Delhi in the evening. Overnight in Volvo.


Day 8: Reach Delhi in the morning. 

Trip ends with beautiful memories and even beautiful pictures.

  • Entire travel as per itinerary. 
  • 5 Nights accommodation: 1 night in Manali, 3 nights in camps/ hotel in Kaza, 1 night in chandrataal on a triple sharing basis.
