India's most popular creative writing workshop is coming to Delhi for one weekend. Designed for writers of ALL levels--from complete novices to professionals, and everyone in between--The Write Stuff is the creation of Tall Tales, India's longest-running, live storytelling event series. Transform your writing--and make amazing new friends doing it.

For this workshop, no experience is required. Only your enthusiasm, an open mind, and a willingness to test drive your writing skills. Come and find out why over 1400 people have taken our story design workshop over the last four years and become a part of the fastest-growing writers family in the country.

You can register for one OR both days of the workshop. If you register for both days, Saturday AND Sunday, you get a discount on the total.

Register by sending an email to story@talltales.in. Mention the dates of the workshop you'd like to register for and your contact info and we will reply with how to quckly and easily do it right away.

Using discussion, exercises, games, and much more, we'll divide up the weekend as follows:

Day 1 - The Map - Learn the details of the universal story structure and why it's critical to understanding stories.

Day 2 - The Motion - Put your theory into action and learn the key priorities to make a story not just interesting but unforgettable.

As always, the workshop goes into extreme detail about what makes a story a story in the first place, the underlying structure that holds up stories from start to finish, what a memorable character is and how to design them, as well as what makes effective dialog, plot, flow, setting, promise-keeping, and much, much more. We tackle everything you need to know no matter whether you're interested in fiction, non-fiction, screenplays, or anything else story-related.

Again, you do NOT need to take Day 1 in order to take Day 2. Likewise, you can take Day 1 and still find it extremely useful without taking Day 2.

What is story architecture? It's the seed in the soil, the ghost in the machine. It's the structure that frames infinite story combinations while reminding us that stories are journeys. In other words, story architecture is not just helpful--it's everything. Find out all about it at this workshop on the 14th and 15th of October.

Join us as literature, art and politics all combine to make a statement. There will also be a discussion on art and politics with Jerry Pinto and V. Geetha. Entry is free and open to all. You don't want to miss it!
We are delighted to invite you for a launch, discussion and presentation of Another History of the Childrens Picturebook: from Soviet Lithuania to India and God of Money.

Editorial Director of @[141287807743:274:Tara Books], V. Geetha will be in conversation with author and journalist @[141046335918491:274:Jerry Pinto]. The books will be on sale at a pop-up by Trilogy by The Eternal Library.

In a deeply conflicted, unequal and multilingual society like ours, art affords the possibility of communication that does not rest on a knowledge of formal literacy; or a knowledge of dominant languages, such as Hindi or English. This is why, art as politics is a way of representing the world that is far more democratic than what's possible with words.

In this presentation, V.Geetha, editorial director at Tara Books, shall discuss these ideas at length, illustrating her arguments with pictures. She will foreground two books in the course of the discussion: Another History of the Children's Picturebook: from Soviet Lithuania to India, and God of Money.

Another History, tells us how art survives control and censorship, and thus helps sustain democratic expression.

God of Money, shows us how art can recall entire traditions of representation to illustrate, extend and remake meaning.

The program is free and open to all. Register by sending an email to info@g5a.org.

Of all the questions that are sent to Tall Tales, can you guess what the most common one is? It's, "I have all these ideas in my head for stories, but no idea how to start. What do I do?" If this is you at all, then help is on the way! Tall Tales founder Michael Burns has a brand new book out, published by Penguin India, on story starters. It's far more than a book of writing prompts (though it's that too). It's a book that walks you through how to mine your own life in order to find the ideas, feelings, and insights that you can build fiction and non-fiction stories around. And we think you're going to love it. Several promotional events are coming up, but in the meantime you can order the book right here: http://www.amazon.in/Hack-Into-Creativity-Michael-Burns/dp/0670090107

Follow the book at bookofprompts.com and remember, everyone has at least one great story. What's yours?
