Tadiandamol (meaning the large mountain in Kannada ) is one of the most beautiful peaks in Karnataka, known to be the highest peak in Coorg/Kodagu district elevated about 1748 meter from the sea level. The Tadiandamol trekking offers adventurers an opportunity to explore the rare birds of the mountain, beautiful butterflies and vivid vegetation. A panoramic view from the peaks is eye-candy for everyone who hikes the peak.

The trail takes you through the excellent expanse of the Shola forest, which is a day trek that becomes even more doable for city folks just like avid trekkers and hikers. A famous historical landmark Nalknad-Palace resides in the foothills of the mountain.

I have several issues to highlight concerning the Group trip to Tandiamol arranged by Hygge Travels on 29 Nov '19:First, and even though of Passenger Capacity sufficient to include all members, the 'Force' vehicle assigned to us was very constricted and congested. Seats were narrow, and particularly so for the 1000km round trip journey that we undertook. Those in the backseat were doubly discomfited for reasons the upright seat, and the bags stashed under their legs. Surely, Customers expect a comfortable vehicle. Instead they were surprised without choice with a small, tightly-compressed van that took more comfort away than it added to the journey. Tangentially, the vehicle could have carried Jumper Cables necessary to start the vehicle after a dead battery incident. Instead, all passengers were forced to disembark in cold, evening rain, suffer exposure to jeep exhaust while pushing the Van. Customers paid up front for an enjoyable trip, not to turn wet, cold and slushy in winter rain, and certainly not to turn Cancer victims of Jeep exhaust. Since travel by road seems to be a must (I for one, would have preferred a Rail option), Hygge should at least ensure the Vehicle it offers has the necessary backup, safety, comfort that it charges its customers for without any choice. Further, the Vehicle driver (apparently) preferred to take a circuitous route on the way up that wasted precious time on 30th. Losing an hour due Driver indiligence on an already short Winter day negated the possibility of visiting Chelavara Falls the same day. Second, Hygge could have chosen to accommodate us as Misty Woods close to Nalknad Palace. Instead, we were accommodated at the West Wind View Point where facilites are sub-humanly rudimentary. The local Cook-cum-Caretaker turned in to the Keymaster and locked the only room with a Western Toilet, forcing us to either leave the place at the last moment , or compromise our holiday with dark rooms and Indian Toilets without any grip handle, and that are infested with beehives. What angers me however, is that your Tour Organizer, Yogesh/Ganesh, chose to side with the West Wind Cook, rather than support me when I sought the facility of a Western Bath and Toilet. We could have been informed of facilites, or more precisely, the lack of them, and our Stay options before starting the journey. Why did Hygge not learn from the complaints of earlier batches and offer us a better package? What kind of Hygge Organizer would ask his Customers to use Indian Toilets meant for local staff when a fully-equipped Western Bath and Toilet was locked out of use? I even suspect the quality of Water dispensed at WestWind. I am disgusted and livid with your Organizer for deserting his Customers crucially, and particularly so, when 6 of them were females. How are such decisions conformable with the Customer-centric business that Hygge claims to runs? Does Hygge run a Travel business to fulfill Customer expectations, or participate in a sponsored unholy conspiracy to bundle all shortcomings of all past tours on a hapless batch that is victimized and tortured for the malicious plans of environmentally-guilty Corporates against (alleged) lovers of the Green (but who seek their 'social processes' through Hygge in exhange fot that Torture)? Since the choice of accommodation is tied to Holiday Comfort, rest, cuisine and relaxation, the decision to prefer West Wind over Misty Woods by an experienced Travel Organizer such as Hygge is not merely unfortunate, but inexplicable and inexcusable.
