Eligibility: Class IV to VIII
Engineering is made possible through the application of science to solve problems in Industry. To excel in this process one must be strong with the theoretical understanding of science and be adept at transforming that into feasible solutions. Students receive training in this by way of working on science projects. DIY-Do It Yourself is a movement that encourages individuals to use and develop their skill to solve problems through tinkering, fabrication and repairing.
SciencePro Camp is an advanced course that provides both the theoretical background and the opportunity to work on science projects simultaneously. With a new project each day, the participants have plenty of chances and variety to develop their skills and use the concepts learnt during the session immediately.
All the projects are take-home models.
Note: This is a multiple-day event. When purchasing the ticket please choose the first date and you will be eligible to attend all the sessions. The camp fee is for all the sessions altogether. Exploration of the nature of light and its manipulation using mirrors and lenses. Optical instruments like microscope, telescope and periscope will be the key topics.
Day 2: Pressure
Study of fluids under pressure and the laws governing them. Hydrostatic pressure, Pascal's law and Charles law will be demonstrated through experiments.
Project: Cartesian Diver & Barometer
Day 3: Mechanical robots
Let's build simple robots using the principles of mechanics and hydraulics. Manipulate forces and motion of mechanisms using leverage and geometry.
Project: Hydraulic Lift
Day 4: Electricity
Understand the physics of electricity and electrical phenomena. Learn about home wiring, fuse, phase, power, voltage, current, grounding etc.
Project: Table Lamp

Young-Scientist ensures that at least 50% of its programs contain hands-on activities. We believe that learning is best when immediately reinforced by a visual and tangible lesson. Some of the experiments we do are demonstrations for the safety of the children. However, none of our workshops is "pure theory/lecture", unless otherwise stated. We encourage the children's active participation in experiments/activities whenever possible.
The key concepts per session will be kept minimal and simple.
They will be reinforced repeatedly, along with experiments, to achieve the desired learning outcomes.
Experiments and activities will be distributed over the duration of the session.
Theory sessions will be brief and serve to connect the different activities.
Videos and animations will be employed whenever possible.
Worksheets and Observation sheets will be provided wherever necessary.
