Hampta Pass trek is one of the most awe-inspiring treks in the Kullu region of Himachal Pradesh. The Hampta Pass offers breathtaking views of the two different sides of the Himalayas.

On one side of the pass lies the lush green Kullu valley and on the other side is the stark opposite dessert valley of Lahaul. One of the major highlights of the trek is the visit to high altitude Chandratal lake in Spiti. The trek is of moderate difficulty level and is preferred by both beginners as well as experienced trekkers.

The maximum altitude attained gained during Hampta pass trek is 4200 m and total trek distance is 35 km. While returning from the trek, the drive is over the famous Rohtang Pass. This adds to the list of attractions of this trek. Hampta Pass Trek best time is from June to October.

Day 1: Manali
On arrival in Manali, you check into our campsite in Manali, Take rest for a while and then proceed to a sightseeing trip with one of our team members.  It would be a village tour to get you acclimatized. Enjoy your evening at the campsite while dancing with light music and having your dinner at the campsite and have a good night sleep in the comfy tents.

Day 2: Manali Vashist Chhika (4-5 Hours)
We will drive from Manali to Vashisht village on the upper outskirt and will Start trekking from Vashist to Chhika while passing through the alpine forests, along the Hampta Waterfall. Overnight in the tents.

Day 3: Chhika Balu Gera (4-5 Hours)
Today, we will start our  Trek from Chhika to Balu Gera. Balu Gera means Bears camp. Brown bears use the caves in this area to hibernate in winter. Overnight in tents.

Day 4: Balu Gera Hampta  Pass Sia Goru (4200mts/13800ft) (4-5 Hours)
A strenuous trek over Hampta Pass to Sia Goru provides stunning picturesque scenery. You can see Deo Tibba and Indrasan Peak of the great Himalayas. This used to be the trade route from China by Spiti to Kullu and other parts of the country. Overnight stay in the tents.

Day 5: Sia Goru-Chhatru-Chandatal (3 Hours Drive, 4 Hours Trek)
Today's trek will be a comparatively relaxed one after the previous day trek. Chhatru is a picturesque village surrounded by meadows and river Chandra flowing nearby. You are picked up from the end point of the trek at Chhatru and transported by jeep to Chandertal, a high altitude lake in the Himalayas. This offers some splendid photo opportunities and you can spend the day relaxing here or hiking around the lake. You spend the night camping by the lake.

Day 6: Chandratal- Manali (5 Hours)
A 5 hours drive will take you back to Manali. You will have an option to stay at our Solang Tent with additional charges for the night or you may choose a stay of your own.
