Want to learn how to make mobile apps for your Android phone or tablet? Then this workshop is a chance for participants to build their first app for smartphone or tablet (Android only)

We are conducting an online workshop on Android App Development  (using MIT App Inventor kit )for grade 7 and above participants who are interested to learn app development withoutcoding.

Level 1 on April' 22nd : Introduction to MIT App Inventor kit with DIY project followed by an assignment which will be discussed      during Level 2 session.                                     

Level 2 workshop on April' 24th : Hands on activity on Game App Development 

Fees : 500/- includes both the sessions 

MIT App Inventor is a visual programming environment that allows everyone even children to build fully functional apps for smartphones and tablets.It is a blocks-based tool facilitates the creation of complex, high-impact apps in significantly less time than traditional programming environments. Attendees will be provided with instructions to build new applications

NOTE: No Coding Skills Needed , People interested in Android Technology are welcome to join 



2. Android phone (7.0 Version and above) with App Inventor Kit installed ( installation instructions will be provided) 

Workshop Objective : 

  • Understand concepts of android application development process
  • Impart technical and practical knowledge with no prior coding experience
  • Kick-start basics of android programming

How the webinar works:
  • The registered number will be added to a temporary WhatsApp group where further instructions will be shared.
  • The online session will take place over Zoom Meetings.
  • A computer with speakers/headphones and a reliable internet connection is necessary.
  • The facilitator will share their computer screen where the content will be displayed (Powerpoint presentation, worksheets, software UI, videos, simulations, virtual tour etc.).
  • The facilitator will also be giving live audio commentary and explanations.
  • The participants can interact with the facilitator using the chat feature.
  • The participants will have their audio muted and their video cam stopped to ensure a smooth streaming experience for all.
  • One ticket permits one device (computer/tablet) to join the Zoom Meeting
  • The live stream of the online session is only for personal use, and thus shouldn't be recorded or transmitted or projected to an audience unauthorised by the organizer

What is Young-Scientist?

Young-Scientist (YS) was founded in 2015 with the aim to make science simple and fun for children. It provides science enrichment programs that emphasize visual learning and employs hands-on activities. Young-Scientist has been incorporated as Jeune Scientist Pvt. Ltd.

Are you guys from IIT-Madras?

The YS team comprises of members from a varied background. The founder studied Chemistry in graduate school and built a career in the IT industry spanning two decades.

We have physics majors, chemistry enthusiasts, engineers, science lovers, retired professors, researchers and others in the team - united by our aim to make science accessible to all.

What else do you do besides science workshops?

We organize science camps and run science clubs in schools and apartments. We are passionate about education research and are constantly developing teaching tools, experiment kits, science curriculum, infographics, etc.

We also design YS Exploration Studio - a comprehensive science lab for schools.

I have registered for the workshop/camp. What happens next?

1. Upon successful registration, you'll receive an SMS notification and an email from EventsHigh which can serve as a ticket.

2. The contact number provided will be added to our WhatsApp group in a few days. If you don't have WhatsApp or use a different number for it, or if you haven't been added, please get in touch with us.

3. In addition to the instructions sent via the confirmation email from EventsHigh, we will be updating you on the event and the venue in the WhatsApp group.

4. After the workshop/event is over, a report will be posted in the group along with a link to the Google Photos album containing pictures from the session.
