Plan The Unplanned presents Karwar !!

Karwar is the headquarter of Uttara Kannada district on the Southwestern coast of India. It is situated between Sahyadri evergreen forest in the east, the blue Arabian Sea to the west, towards the south, ends with harbor and North the beautiful Kali river. It is one of the green city of India with eco-tourism. Hills has created a natural harbor with protection against wind and sea tides naturally.

Karwar is the place where the legendary writer Late. Sri Rabindranath Tagore first penned his poems. He was greatly impressed by the beauty of Karwar, that he quoted Karwar to be the Kashmir of Karnataka.

Karwar is just another paradise where the Western ghats directly plunge into the Arabian sea looks like mountains and waters of Kashmir.

Karwar is known for its clear blue beaches, calmness and Islands. A boat ride to Elephant Island, Turtle Island and Lighthouse Island is the best in Karwar. Our resort is situated in Majali which is around 2 km from Sadashivgad fort. Major attractions in Karwar are Rabindranath Tagore Beach, INS Chapel Museum, Aquarium, Sadashivgad fort. A Trek to Flamingo Island and Tilmati Beach is the best walks you will ever have.

Day 0
Depart from Bangalore by 7:00 PM

Day 1
-Reach Campsite between 8-9:00 AM.
-Freshen up and Breakfast
-Begin Kayaking at Kali River ( approx 2- 3 hours of Kayaking )
-Lunch at the campsite
-Head to lesser-known Mangrove Forests of Karwar
-Reach back to the campsite at 6 00 PM
-Campfire, Music & Dinner

Day 2

-Wake up at 7:00 AM, freshen up and breakfast
-Join for low rope course activities
-Head to our very favorite Ajvi Oceanfront for lunch
-Explore the less crowded beaches of Karwar ( Majali, Devbagh, or Tilmati)
-Dinner on the way ( Self-sponsored)
-Depart for Bangalore by 5:00 pm (approx)

Inclusions:

- Transportation(AC) to and fro from Bangalore
- Sharing Basis Accommodation in Rooms.
- ( Veg Only ) 2 Breakfasts, 1 lunch, 1 dinner
- Permits
- Kayaking and low-course rope activities

1. Consumption of alcohol, intoxicants, and smoking would not be tolerated during the entire course of the journey. Kindly cooperate with us to make the experience more fun.

4. In the case of traffic delays or breakdowns expect a few delays in reaching the destination.

Kudremukh Trek (3rd Aug - 5th Aug)I have been planning for the Kudremukh Trek for a long time. But was very hesitant to do it on my own. There is a limited (50 person) entry for the trek to the Kudremukh and I was not sure about the entry, gates and entry free. Online portals dont have specifics of the details, and the information didnt seem updated. After doing some research, I came across Plan the Unplanned (PTU), and they seemed to be the most reliable. I heard great review from friends and colleagues, so I went ahead and booked Kudremukh Trek for the weekend of 3rd - 5th August. It was a wonderful trip, to say the least. The planning and execution were absolutely on point, and Plan the Unplanned (PTU) exceeded my expectations. Below are some highlights: Very good transportation facility (AC Bus) Stay was arranged at Bella Homestay. Good clean dorm room. Separate rooms for boys and girls. We were 11 guys staying in room. But it was still decently comfortable. Great food at the homestay. Aunty makes some amazing Idllis and Tomato rice :D Permits were taken care before reaching the entry point of the trek, avoiding last minute hassles. (Such a relief) It was relatively easy for experienced hikers but moderate for newbies. But definitely one of the most scenic treks with lots of greenery and gushing water streams on the way. And windows XP theme hills ;) The fellow trekkers were good. Very motivated and great sport. Last but not the least the Trek Leader (Adith, Megha, Deepika, Yash) were awesome. They are very engaging and responsible. Kudremukh trekkers were mostly in contact with Adith & Megha. And they did an awesome job of coordination and I highly recommend them.
