2500 years ago, a prince named “Siddhartha Gautama” left his palace with a luxurious comfortable lifestyle to put an end to “dukha”, suffering. How we can free ourselves from all kinds of sufferings and become completely at peace and happy? Prince Siddhartha become Buddha “The Enlightened One.” He first taught others about the 4 Nobel Truths and the Eightfold Noble Path and later about the wisdom of emptiness, and bodhichitta, the heart of the path to full enlightenment. In his long carrier of teaching he expounded various different practices based on the particular mental dispositions and need of his audience. Why is this 2500 year old teaching still relevant in this 21st Century? With this full day teaching we will learn from Venerable Legtsok about basic secular meditation as well as essential features of the Buddhist outlook on life.
