Holi in Sangla is said to be one of the enchanting experiences that one should witness. Besides, well be celebrating International Women's Day too!

Now imagine being colored up in the bliss of Holi among the mountains covered with a thick blanket of fresh snow!

Being a perfect getaway from the hustle-bustle of the swarming cities, Sangla is a town in the Baspa Valley, also referred to as the Sangla valley. Blessed with apple orchards, apricots, walnuts, cedar trees, glacial streams, lots of trout fish and of course, the fir trees, Sangla Valley is quite close to the Tibetan border.
On the other hand, Narkanda is a town in Shimla district at an altitude of 2,708 meters. If you have heard about it, you will know, Narkanda doesn't have a long list of places to explore. Apart from a group of houses, you will only find peace and alluring landscapes. And if you have really heard, this is the true reason why people come here and why you should too!

This is a women's only trip.

Day 1 - 7th February March

  • We are eager and excited as we stand to wait for you to assemble at our decided meeting point in Chandigarh. Its 11 a.m. and we depart at 11:30 a.m.  So, hurry up now!
  • Weve reached Narkanda and its only 5:00 p.m.-just the right time to check-in to our homestay amidst the beautiful orchards of apples and cherries. You better not get caught taking a bite into them, without permission of course!
  • Wooh! Its cold, right? That's why, we have set a bonfire for the evening! Lets get comfy and TALK what better way to start our trip than getting to know our fellow travelers. Cheers!

Day 2 - 8th March

  • Its Womens Day! Warm greetings to all our female travelers. But before anything, lets first delve into some delicious breakfast.
  • NOW, that was a hearty meal! A perfect to start our journey to Sangla. Afterall,  its a day full of celebrations Its Womens Day and the beginning of Holi.
  • Feel the fresh wind brush through your hair, its Sangla guys! BUT we must tell you - the moment youll step out of the vehicle, youll start to feel the Holi vibe in the air. Got ya! Sanglas Holi is celebrated over a span of 4 days. So when the world is preparing for Holi, people here are already celebrating it. Like we are doing now!
  • Finally! Lets settle at our Homestay - our HOME for 3 days for a complete local  experience
  • If you arent tired, you must take a stroll on the streets of the town and explore.  Tired? Lets head back to the homestay and celebrate Womens Day with  bonfire and some music.

Day 3 - 9th March

  • Today is the day of celebration, as it is Holi & Holika Dahan. And its no big deal that youll wake up in the morning and youll be greeted with snowfall.  Ok, maybe it is a bigdeal!
  • The celebration starts from morning. So have your breakfast and join in the party!  The entire town will be filled with high energy, happy faces and lots of free food  & Phasur (local wine) served everywhere.
  • Dont worry, the wine is a ritual among Kinnauri people. Every ritual in this festival starts with an offering of alcohol to the gods and then to the people. Isnt this a  bonus ;)
  • The day ends with Holika Dahan at the Berinag Temple. Awwwthentically blissful!

Day 4 - 10th March

  • Today, we are going to explore the tiny village called Rakchham. The village is located at more height than Sangla, so it receives great amount of snowfall. So,  bring out the kid in you and lets play Dodgeball :D
  • If weather permits, you might even get to try your hand at skiing.
  • Yes, its fun here but we must get back to Sangla by evening as we have a  celebration to attend.
  • When youll notice the palanquin moving up and down, take it as the deities are dancing and enjoying themselves. In the era of science and modernization, the  Himachalis still believe and have faith in their gods.

Day 5 - 11th March

  • Wasnt that breakfast delicious! Pack up guys, were about to start our drive  back to Narkanda.
  • Upon reaching Narkanda, keep your bags in your rooms and lets start the hike  to the beautiful Hatu Peak and the Hatu Temple.
  •  Enjoy the lovely sunset and return to the homestay. Dont be surprised, you  didnt think well plan your night without a bonfire!
  • And as its the last night of our journey, lets cherish our last 5 days by singing,  dancing and laughing, or whatever makes you an entertainer! ;)

Day 6 - 12th March
