Interested in sketching from observation but do not know where to make a start from? Take up this workshop to understand the techniques from a professional artist, who with her post graduation in Fine Arts, will explain the techniques based on best practices from the theory as well practical aspects. In this workshop, you will learn:
- Techniques of using willow charcoal sticks as well as charcoal pencils
- Shading to simulate light and shadow of the given object/setup onto paper
- Proportions so as to realistically represent the given object/setup onto paper
All material required during the workshop will be provided. Participants will carry out rough work using charcoal sticks on newsprint paper and the final sketch using graphite pencil on sketching paper.
Minimum age to join the workshop: 10 years and above.
Ujwala Vishwanath is a cinematographer, sketcher, painter, photographer and sculptor. She has completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Indiana University US, PG-Diploma in Multi-Media Broadcasting in Journalism from the World Media Academy & ICFJ, and Master of Fine Arts from American Film Institute Los Angeles.
Having 8 years of experience in sketching, painting, cinematography, photography, and sculpting, she works with documentary filmmakers, Discovery communications, Meditech and Sudhee networks, being just a few of them. She also works as a freelance cinematographer for films as well as conducts workshops and classes for those wanting to express themselves through art.
