Drawing with light is a workshop is aimed at sharing the skills and knowledge required, to set forth on a journey of recording and documenting, experiencing and interpreting, exploring and experimenting, through the medium of photography. This workshop is for anyone interested in learning and understanding photography - from a photo enthusiast, to someone planning to buy a camera, or someone who has a DSLR or a mirrorless camera, which they have not been able to use to its full potential, or simply somebody who wants to explore photography as a means of expression.
This 12-hour workshop will familiarise the participants with the basics of the craft and cameras, and the nitty-gritties of how to make images and tell stories. The course has been designed to facilitate a holistic/ comprehensive understanding of these concepts, through assignments, exercises, critique, interactions, and discussions. The sessions have been designed in a manner to enable learning and exchange between participants and the facilitator. To ensure that every participant gets individual attention, only a limited number of participants are taken per batch.
The aim of the course is to equip participants with skills and knowledge, which will allow them to make pictures confidently and use photography to express and voice their thoughts and observations. The course is spread across 2 weekends, the first batch starts on Saturday, 16 November 2019, with 3-hour sessions every day, along with indoor and outdoor exercises to practice all the basics and get comfortable with using the camera and expressing freely through the medium.
