Are you ready to challenge your physical and mental limits!

Kumara Parvatha is not just a trek it's one of those journeys in life that one must embark upon to truly to be one with nature and themselves. Located in Kodagu/Coorg district at an elevation of 5600ft its second highest peak in the state, after Tadiyandamol.

The mountain lies behind the famous Kukke Subramanya temple. A small gate and board act as indicators to the trekking trail that stand behind them.

Once you begin the trek its about 2.5- 3 hours before you reach the first major checkpoint, the ascent is through a tropical rainforest that is a part of the Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary. While youll be trekking through dense forest, the thick foliage and canopy offer you much-needed shade. If you stand still and listen to the forest youll hear the forest come alive with various sounds of nature. About an hour and a half of trek and youll come across a boulder called Bheemas rock that serves a 2.5 km milestone on our 7km journey to Bhattaramane.

Once you reach Bhattramane freshen up and have an early lunch soon after which youll make your way to the next checkpoint that is Kallumantapa Enroute the false peak Sheshaparvatha. Here you can rest and drink delicious stream water that flows just below it. Once you resume the trek, Sheshaparvatha is just 45mins to 1 hour away. According to local folklore, Sheshaparavatha is said to protect the Subramanya temple at the base of the mountain.

This part of the journey is simply mesmerizing and we could go into the details of the beauty but that would be an all-new article in itself!

Once you reach Sheshaparvatha youll witness the majestic Kumara Parvatha at all its the glory. With the trail descending for a couple of hundred meters, youll soon be at the mercy of the mountain and will have to cross a stream and climb a waterfall to reach your goal! THE PEAK!

Local legends say that the worshipped deity Lord Subramanyas footprint is present at the peak. If you are looking for satisfaction and fulfillment this is a trek that you MUST embark upon to surrender yourself to mother nature who makes sure that you think about nothing else but her.
