What does being a 'South Asian' or 'Indian' woman' mean to you?

This storytelling workshop will explore themes of gender, culture, and identity through artistic methods of reflection and creation. It is open to women aged 18+*

The workshop begins with ‘Shades of Brown Girl’, a solo theatre show created by Amrita Kumar-Ratta, a researcher, writer, and artist-educator based in Toronto, Canada with roots in Chandigarh, India. The piece, which uses associations with color to turn intimate details about being Indo-Canadian into a powerful message of healing and inspiration, is used as the starting point for important conversations around gender, culture, and identity as experienced by young women.

Come and explore creative ways to share your story - be prepared to do some writing! Get involved in creative storytelling beyond this workshop! The possibilities for creative self-expression are endless!
