Foundation Music Camp & Interactive HumDrum Circle
The Foundation Music Camp (3 days - 2 hours each day) is a structured participatory workshop for teachers, therapists, parents/grandparents and students teamed up as pairs to enable a system of understanding and playing music together. An inclusive drum circle is followed by interactive sessions that provide a foundation for learning the language and
mathematics of music.
Designed for 20 participants this includes right-left hand exercises played on a tone drum combined with vocal expressions and rhythmic exchanges to access the universal code used in both Indian and Western music to create and express sounds in time as music.
The Interactive HumDrum Circle (1 hour) is an inclusive, energetic and fun music performance for 20 to 50 people set up in a large hall or open space where all participants play a drum or percussion instrument, led by a facilitator, creating spontaneous music
together. Each participant is provided with a drum for the session.
