You will learn the basics of Cheriyal Art and also contribute in reviving an endangered Indian art form.
Cheriyal Painting is a stylized version of Nakashi art, rich in the local motifs. Made only in Cheriyal, Warangal district, Telangana, India, these scrolls are painted in a narrative format, much like a film roll or a comic strip, depicting stories from local mythology and folklore, and intimately tied to the shorter stories from the Puranas and Epics.
The Artist Mr. Nagilla Ganesh and his family are currently preserving this art form along with the support of only few other such families. Together, they're keeping their tradition of Cheriyal scroll painting alive.
