About the Artist:

Rohini Chidambaram did her Bachelors in Law from Nagpur University and the Masters in Law from Santa Clara University, US. She worked in legal aid organizations in the US and legal companies in Bangalore.

However, her love and passion for Carnatic music and Bharatanatyam, made her quit her legal profession and enter into the field of arts.

After a gap of 25 years, she completed her BA in Bharatnatyam (3 years course) from Keshava college of Music and dance, Bangalore University in 2015.

In 2016 she joined an NGO for special needs children in JP Nagar, Bangalore and practiced different artistic mediums in connecting with those children and in conducting sessions for them like drumming, storytelling, games, visual arts, voice, and movement.

After she quit the NGO in 2018, she did a course in storytelling and a workshop in shadow puppetry from Kathalaya, an organization in Bangalore that trains people in the art of storytelling. She uses various artistic mediums in her storytelling sessions like creative games, visual arts, role play, drumming, dance, voice, etc depending upon the age group of the children and the theme of the session.
