Pandit Pravin Godkhindi is a gifted multi-faceted artist of rare talent and mastery. He is a composer, a vocalist, an actor, a Tabla artist, and a harmonium player apart from what he is best at - The Bansuri.
He is the son of legendary Bansuri artiste Pandit Venkatesh Godkhindi from whom he learned the musical nuances of Hindustani Bansuri in Kirana Gharana Gayaki style. Vidwan Anoor Anantha Krishna Sharma a reputed Mridangam artiste, is providing able guidance to Pravin on the deeper aspects of LAYA and LAYAKAARI. Sonorous blowing, control over the breath, elaborations of Raga with its aesthetic appeal, extraordinary and skillful rendition of Layakaari are a few salient features of his flute recital. Among the many firsts that he has grabbed, he is the first South-Indian Bansuri artiste to be graded TOP RANK by Akashvani, 2013.
Another noteworthy feature of Pravins family is that they have produced three generations of flutists: Late Pt Venkatesh Godkhindi, Pravin Godkhindi, and his son, Shadaj Godkhindi. Shadaj is creating a niche for himself skillfully matching the musical abilities of his dad and grandfather. Ragavalli welcomes you all for the musical extravaganza by this amazing father-son duo.
