Eek! Improvisation for your nerves (6 hours) Sun, 24th Nov, 10 am to 5 pm
Do you avoid or dislike getting in front of an audience, because your heart is pounding, your stomach is turning, and the words get stuck in your throat? This could be at a presentation at work, or even in social situations. At this engaging workshop, we’ll explore what it means to be nervous. Why do we get stage fright? Why do some social situations stress us out? Can we make it bearable or even enjoyable? We’ll share tips and look at how our bodies and minds work, in order to soothe our nerves and even welcome them (a bit)! The workshop is for everyone who wishes to be more comfortable in situations that give them the shakes: presentations, public speaking, social situations -- basically, doing things in front of people. NB! Applied improv workshop for the larger public, i.e. non-improvisers.
About Hazel Salminen
Hazel is an administrator by day and improviser by night… Based in Helsinki, Finland, she has been improvising since 2006, and is still inspired by this lovely art of creating things of out nothing together! Currently, Hazel performs with three teams: long-form with IMP and Stjärnfall, and technology-assisted improvised karaoke with ImproJektori. Having studied with amazing teachers from both the Johnstone and the Spolin traditions, Hazel also teaches and coaches on her own and through IMP and Stjärnfall. Work permitting, she loves traveling and improvising, and has performed and taught at some wonderful festivals in Europe – and now it’s time for India!
About the Bengaluru Improv Festival
The Bengaluru Improv Festival is Indias FIRST and the ONLY Improv festival. Our first edition in November 2018, marked India's entry on the global Improv map with much vigor. India has a thriving Improv potential. After our first successful edition, we aim to keep bringing BIF back with the intention to get all those who practice the art of Improv under one roof. The festival will see international Improv artists, who will collaborate with us to perform and teach their experienced knowledge about art.
