This is a new curated series of music gigs that take place in Atta Galatta, the cosiest bookstore in the heart of Koramangala, Bangalore. As a new entrant as a space in the independent music scene in the city, the series hopes to create an intimate cosy experience for musicians and listeners alike. The curation shall aim at showcasing fresh and established acts from across the country. Sip on some filter coffee, flip through a book or two, sit back and breathe in the music.
About Flying Shoe -
This time around we brings to you Flying Shoe, a singer-songwriter from Mumbai who has started making his presence felt in the indie scene with his lyrical and lilting Saturday-morning-with-chai or Friday-evening-under-the-stars music. This show is a part of his Autumn Tour.
Flying Shoe is an Indie folk/ Pop project producing heartwarming tunes you'd want to hum at your favourite coffee shop. Served to you fresh out of the oven by singer-songwriter Omkar Potdar a.k.a. Omi.
Omi's recipe for delightful indulgence is easy; a few teaspoons of simplicity and a generous sprinkle of honesty. The songs leave you with a great, yet dichotomous aftertaste one of love, warmth and melancholy. Flying Shoes ability to blend the most common of ingredients and dishing out such memorable melodies still stays a delicacy.
What makes the Flying Shoe experience is the intimacy that the songs reverberate, the lost feeling of familiarity, the nostalgia. With crowd-favourites like Rollercoaster and Paper boats, Flying Shoe has already left his first of many everlasting impressions on audiences across Pune, Mumbai and Goa. With an EP due early this year, he hopes you let go of that weight off your feet and fly high with the tunes.
The debut self-titled EP is being produced by Zain Calcuttawala (Bulli Bainbridge) at Island City Studios, Mumbai and features incredibly talented musicians like Karun Kannampilly (Konica Net) and Yohaan Pissurlenker (Calico) to name a few.
