Join Martiya on this wonderful journey of learning about your body through dance. In this workshop find out how Bellydance can be an effective way to relieve stress. A lot of stress-related negative emotions become stored along our spine and in the backs of the legs.
Spinal articulations of Bellydance and balancing exercises help free up the spine and strengthen the supporting muscles. The graceful movements of this dance form utilize muscle groups in the abdomen, pelvis, trunk, spine, and neck, which all help to build powerful support for improved posture.
You can take the short exercises from the workshop home and make a daily physical fitness routine out of it. Belly dancing also improves the sleeping ability of the body and helps your body's natural cycles to function properly. Repetitious swaying, circular and flowing movements are likened to a state of dance meditation.
While a session of slow Bellydance movements can induce a state of mental relaxation, the fast ones are stimulating and fun cardiovascular workout. Belly dance also helps alleviate congestion in the pelvic area. Improved circulation to the pelvic area improves and at the same time, the feeling of relaxation alleviates stress.
