Vidushi Anupama Bhagwat

Smt. Anupama’s musical journey began in Bhilai where she commenced her inspirational musical tutelage with Acharya Bimalendu Mukherjee.  Over two decades of a rigorous taalim in the guru-shishya parampara, she imbibed the intricacies of the Imdadkhani Gharana.

‘Surmani’ Anupama’s performances over the last twenty years have been lauded by connoisseurs for scintillating fast taans, mastery of the meditative alaap, and brilliant fluency of melody.

Anupama’s performances across the globe include Australia & NZ, Bahamas, Canada, France, Italy, Netherlands, Switzerland, Hong Kong, UK, and USA.  She has presented many jugalbandis with celebrated Carnatic and Hindustani artists, and in world music performances such as Global Rhythms and Shanti.  She has conducted several workshops at universities, and conservatories worldwide.
