The Department of Environmental Science, Bangalore University in collaboration with Dalai Lama Institute for Higher Education, Bengaluru is organizing 3rd International Conference on 'Climate Change Impacts and Environmental Flows in the Rivers and Basins of the Indian Ocean Region' (ICCIEFR - 2020) on 20th and 21st March 2020.

The theme goes in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals emphasizing on 'Clean Water and Sanitation' and 'Climate Action'. Water is essential for life, health, human development and livelihood support systems including ecosystems management, sustaining both aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems.

The aim of the conference is to provide an opportunity for research and academic forums, industries, NGOs, Communities, and the Private Sector from around India and the world, to explore various dimensions of interlinkages between the impacts of climate change on water resources, their effects on environmental flows of the river basins, and the fate of coastal and marine environment. The main objective is, therefore, to engage a new dialogue on 'Climate Change and Environmental Flows' (E-Flows), in alignment with current integrated water resources management approaches of our river basins and watershed zones, and how to illuminate the role of environmental flows to simultaneously improve human well-being and sustain vital ecosystems. The ultimate goal is to underscore the importance of conserving and rejuvenating the natural river basins.
