The stories, the emotions, the relations can be created by words. They can also be created without them. But between speaking and keeping the scene silent, isn’t there a world of opportunities?
This is a workshop about supporting your acting using sounds. Realistic sounds, crazy sounds, annoying sounds, but the most important: your own sounds! Through different techniques and exercises, we will work on layering the imaginary world around you with sound effects to make it deeper. We also will explore different ways to use sounds in setting up scenes, edit, diving into the structure of the show, without saying a word!
Unmute your mouth, and let’s be noisy!
About The PerryWeerd Tour
Laura and Gael are traveling the world together to teach and perform all over the world. They are both experienced teachers, improvisers, and trainers, having traveled on their own in the last few years. Just married, they decided to work for a full year from abroad, traveling from place to place for the season 2019-2020. That's how is born the Perryweerd Tour!
Laura: "Since 2000, in my work at theatre schools I have made cultural policy, I wrote and directed performances and I supervised teachers and artists in training. In 2008 I founded Stichting Gooisch Theaterhuis. This foundation has been the largest theatre school in the Gooi region for 5 years. In 2013, I decided with the foundation to focus primarily on cultural projects at schools and to dramatically reduce the theatre school. As a result, I was able to considerably expand my career as a trainer and I started working more and more like a chairperson, presenter, and consultant. I am also very active as a trainer and player in improvisation theatre in the Netherlands and Europe"
Gael: Gael practices improv for almost 11 years in Strasbourg and is a member, co-founder, and director of La Carpe Haute. He is also the co-founder of SIN, an International Network of Improvisers in Europe. He has traveled to Europe and the world during the past few years (New York, Barcelona, Berlin, Atlanta, Moscow, Athens, Brussels, Gothenburg, Boston, Amsterdam, etc.), performing and teaching, and has found a thousand ways to improvise.
