The Workshop entitled Winning Strategies to win Design Clients is a first in the series of six together forming The Design Strategist mentorship program. The topic not only aims to provide valuable tips to win clients and close project leads but also addresses the fears and anxieties the designers go through before facing the clients. It aims to fill the void of practical skills and also address the lack of confidence and grooming of the young designers.
While The Design Strategist mentorship curriculum has been formally launched only about 3 months back, the background work and informal training have been going on for some years.
Bharti Girdhar is the founder of Bougainvillea Studios, and though it has been crafting fine homes in the beautiful city of Bangalore since 2003, over 175 projects to date. She says it has been a wonderful journey in spite of many ups and downs that have enriched her life experiences way beyond her initial expectations.
For the last few years, she has been trying to reach out and seek design or execution support from a younger breed of interior designers. In the process, she found that educational institutions and interior design colleges offering a varying mix of good courses for students, yet there is a dearth of practical, hands-on training needed to churn out capable freelancers and entrepreneurial design experts.
To equip fresh/struggling interior designers, Bharti takes up small batches of 8-10 students at a time for a 3-month intensive capsule. She now wishes to reach out to many more through a thoughtfully crafted series of workshops addressing core problem areas of the subject.
