A dynamic workshop for anyone interested in writing or speaking poetry. There will be writing exercises, sharing and critiquing of poems, and tips on how to edit your own poems. The workshop will also focus on performance aspects, to help give you the confidence to speak your poems.
Who should attend:
1) Anyone interested in poetry and storytelling 2) Poets who want to write for the stage 3) Spoken word poets who want to hone their skills
About the facilitator:
Rochelle writes about her travels, cultural influences and personal experiences. Her poems give voice to feelings of displacement, love and loss. She curates storytelling experiences and workshops. She has been a part of numerous literary fests and has performed on stages across India, Australia, Malaysia and Nepal. Both her spoken word albums (A Thin Veneer of Coping and Best Apology Face) are available on Bandcamp/iTunes/Spotify.
Her solo collection of poems - When Home Is An Idea, has been widely appreciated as a conduit to talk about identity and belonging . She has recently moved to Goa and can be found sky-gazing in awe. She endorses hugs, and hopes to disappear into the mountains someday.
