Have you ever wondered how many species of birds are found in the city of Bangalore?

An Introduction to Birdwatching at Lalbagh, starting at the West Gate, close to the Lalbagh Metro Station, from 7:30, am in the morning on Saturday, the 21st of September 2019.

Join in for a couple of hours for a pleasant walk to get to know our common birds and make a beginning at spotting them in our environs. Get introduced to thinking about urban ecology through birds and their habitats. Come learn how fascinating the world of birds can be, and kindle your mind to be sensitive to the life around you. And just soak in the ambiance that greenery can create around you too!

About Echoes of Earth:

Echoes of Earth continues to be India's greenest music festival. Nestled among lush greenery, the festival presents a stellar line-up featuring over 40 International and Indian musicians performing on four uniquely designed stages, celebrating one Earth. This is a festival that assembles people from all walks of life and unites them with a celebration of great music, art and culture, while upholding the leave no trace policy, entailing a deep commitment to the sustenance and preservation of the Earth.

As part of our theme "The Sanctuary", Echoes aims to create awareness about the endangered species through a series of workshops, panel discussions, and campus activations. These workshops will be conducted to raise sensitivity towards the environment and our ecosystems while bringing people close to nature and encouraging them to find connections with their own city's natural heritage.

About Dr. M.B. Krishna:

Dr. Krishna MB is an ecologist and ornithologist from Bangalore who has been interested in bird and habitat conservation and improvement. He has been interested in birds and their ecology from a very long time. In fact, it was his fascination with birds right from his schooldays that led him to pursue his hobby as a serious involvement. His research interests have been in the field of monitoring and bird-community ecology, and in wildlife biology in general. He has been associated with the birdwatching movement in Bangalore for over four decades now.
