1) No proper markings on the route for 21k, 10k and 5k. It was all mixed up. I understand that separate routes are not possible, but the least you could have done is have volunteers at places where 10k runners and 3k or 5k runners had to run on different routes. Just 1km before completing the run, at a traffic signal, I joined the 3k runners and after running around 300-400 m, I was informed that the route for 10k and 21k was different. I had to return back and join the route. No one was present at the signal, nor their were any signboards. 2) The run distance was more than 10k. This was observed by not only me but almost all other runners who kept a record of the distance while running. I know that 21k runners had to run 2 rounds of the 10k route again, but that does not mean that the 10k had to run more than 10 kms. Around 600-900 meters were extra in the 10k routes3) This is probably the biggest flaw I found in the arrangement. On the finishing line, I entered the mall premises from the same point where I started and no one (no volunteer, no sign board present) told me that we had to enter from the point near stage. This affected my timing like anything. I finished my run in 48:31 according to my mobile. After almost half an hour later when I was discussing the timings with my colleagues, some of them got messages about their time but I did not. Then we realised that the finish point was different. So i crossed that point and I got a message that you have completed your run in 1:35:38. This not only happened to me but around 10-20 runners that I know of. I personally recorded my timings and thats enough for me but this must be looked upon in the subsequent runs.4) Refreshments. I know McDonalds was a sponsor for the run but eating a burger after you run 10k or 21k will do no good to a professional runners body. I was really surprised to see that burgers are being distributed as refreshments. Probably some fruit juice, fruits, biscuits should have been given. I know that the run cant be a partial to runners like me as many kids were also present in the run and they were quiet happy to see burgers but some healthier options should be considered. - by Aayush Vohra for Forum Purple Run 2018 - Forum Centre City Mall, Mysuru organized by Forum Centre City Mysuru .
